It's apparent we've found a subject on which there are some extremists who have decided they are the authority. Once again, their closed mindedness takes a light thread and turns it into poisonous flames. I didn't see it as flamebait, just twisted humor. There are plenty of things that people post here that are meant in jest in which I don't find humor. My answer to that is to not laugh and move on. It would be nice if others could find the same reaction and leave their ugliness to themselves. TB has been seen to write here that if there's a thread one doesn't like, they should move on. Interesting he doesn't practice what he preaches whenever religion isn't presented in the manner in which he approves.
Actually, I posted many times that when someone posts a thread entitled with "Jesus", "The Passion," or some other title that indicates the content that others might not want to view, they can move on to another thread.
A title like wwjd, a well known question among believers, led me to believe that the content either asked about or mentionjed Jesus in a positive light. A seeker, or someone with a question.
You see, Hugh, I was deceived. So, having been decieved, how did I react? Let's review.
The highly detailed and artistic drawings suggests to me that someone who fancies themselves a comedy writer simply decided to write some third grade humor over some existing artwork.
So, rather than complain to the webmaster, bemoan the lack of aviation content (Jesus
did rise into the air, but that is a stretch in this context) or engage in a personal attack on the thread starter, I made an observation about the quality of the humor. There is nothing in my post that is inconsistent with my position.
As for posters getting angry, expect it. We are all human, and miss the mark, falling short of the Glory of God.
A Christian isn't free of anger or sin. He's just forgiven. Everything else is icing on the cake.
