Let's review this.

You signed on to an open aviation forum to castigate someone who legitimately answered a question posed by one of your pilots as to what they thought of your BOD President. Not caring for the answer, you state that it shouldn't be discussed in the first place. I guess you are entitled to your opinion, but no one else is.

If you sincerely think this shouldn't be discussed on Flightinfo, report the post to a Mod and have it reviewed. Unfortunately for you court records are public, so if others want to gain a little perspective on the PHL deice incident, they could look here and see how SWAPA, led by Captain Kuwitzky, kicked a First Officer to the curb in an effort to get rid of someone management decided was a 'bad apple'.

Carl's meddling with the negotiating process leading up to TA2 is why you are saddled with an unexceptional contract and an implementation schedule that might be complete by the time you open Section 6 the next time around. Fortunately for the enlightened members of your association, the next election for President is just around the corner. I suggest that you and your fellow pilots take the election seriously and not let it become a rubber stamp for the next back-slapper in line.

WOW! nice find. And people think ALPA is bad! Well, it is, but compared to SWAPA....
Don't worry about some of the sw skirts on here, the minute you say anything negative about their beloved airline, their panties get in a wad!
Most of these girls on here only got hired there because of their PFT program!

Dues suck. Getting disciplined unfairly sucks more. Getting fired sucks the mostest.[/QUOTE]

I think this should go on T-shirts. It pretty much sums up the reason a bunch of us--especially guys who don't come from union backgrounds--learn to participate and support them at our airlines.

Some things to ponder that make SWAPA's management of my and other member's money:

1. SWAPA members vote on the annual budget (submitted by SWAPA committee chairs and approved by the SWAPA BoD before submission to the members for a vote), it has been voted down in the past and had to be re-worked by the BoD;
2. each month expenditures are posted on the website for transparency by committees and category;
3. inquires on how/where money is spent can be made to SWAPA's CFO and get pretty detailed info;
4. reps submit monthly "work reports" that provide transparency on their reimbursements from SWAPA for their work.
5. A petition process that allows members to seek reductions if a majority of members wish for this to occur (my preference is to keep the current dues structure in place until reaching 2.5 x annual budget in the reserve fund for many reasons).
6. Expenditures over and above a set budgeted amount must be approved by the BoD with notification to the membership (there is an upper limit that even the BoD must remain within)

In perspective, I think SWAPA's elected officials are generally good stewards of the members money.

Small insurance premium for a guaranteed, lifetime job. How many non-union jobs have that insurance?

I think that FO should have been fired

I think you should get your facts straight before making a statement like that. Jan got caught in the company's line of fire trying to terminate J.A. Then the union completely threw her under the bus. I hope she wins big in court and gets herself a nice retirement bonus.

Lets get this straight. DO YOU WORK FOR SOUTHWEST AIRLINES? If you do please continue, you are welcome to your opinion. If you do not go mind your own damm bidness

Democratic party has had congress for four years and the white house for one. How is the middle class and airline industry? Sh_t comes to mind.

Give it time... The neocons created a convoluted mess-
Joe- you're too dumb to debate economics with- dems are as pro-business as anyone-they just think in long term consequences and not solely off the ticker-*****they also aren't naive enough to think business leaders will choose to do the right thing if it means earning less money-

Which brings me to SWA- if all you wners wanted to work for a republican, maybe you should have- you didn't though- you chose to work for Herb- and he shared the wealth and spread it around- maybe in the long run that's a better policy- maybe shocker- greed isn't good, but rather- one of the 7 deadly sins.

Again- you're contract comes from democrat/leftist policies- don't forget it-

No. I do not work for Southwest.

Let me get this straight. If I don't work for Southwest I can't have an opinion of your BOD President, even if I have a fairly comprehensive knowledge of his actions?

Just in case you haven't figured it out, I'm not going to recognize your prohibition commenting on Carl. You aren't one of the ND40, are you?
