I just want to know why they decided to give themselves 6 hours a day of pay and not 7.... 7 is more than 6.

This is pure foolishness. Stop complaining about your union leadership's pay. If you guys had a clue how much work goes into those positions you would see that the pay is more than justisfied.

I admire their patience. To work that hard and then to be insulted by the pilots you represent who think you play golf all day is very depressing. I try my best to tell them most FI whiners are the vocal minority.

Mark me down as happy with our reps. This recall is just the usual malcontents. Nothing can make them happy.

And when the pilots who proposed the recall of each LEC officer is asked what their facts are for demanding recall they respond that they wont reveal their "playbook" and all will be revealed at the meeting. Im like, Child Please.....

While it is true we can not accurately speculate about what the JNC is negotiating, I would suggest that everyone both on reserve now and all FO's that plan on being captain some day vote based upon the reserve section.

I guarantee you that after 3+ years on reserve you will wish you had held their feet to the fire now instead of continuing to hear them give excuses why they couldn't do any better.

Our union (crj side) completely sucks when it comes to standing up for our junior pilots.

I wouldn't limit it to just those groups. Just ask any pilot at Comair if reserve rules are important to a previously line-holding captain or FO. I'm guessing any pilot who wasn't in the top 15% of the total pilot group got to see reserve again, if they were lucky enough to keep their job.

Completely disagree. PBS itself was a huge stand for junior pilots as folks like me who had been on reserve for over 3 years were able to hold lines. As for the people who are on reserve now I think the union has done a reasonable job for reservists with MOUs to control the order of ready reserve and allowing those who wanted to make more money to pick up open time trips on their days off. It's not like the union will get the company to change contract language to match XJT reserve rules outside of negotiations. Some of you people expect results out of the union like they have some sort of divine power

So if they DID get MOU's to control ready reserves usage, as well as pick up on a day off, that is in line with the ERJ contract. Which means it WAS done outside JCBA process.

Just like the enhanced commuter policy that mirrored the ERJ side's, the new fatigue policy, etc.

Ugh.

pbs got people off reserve as a byproduct and only a byproduct.

The mou's are nowhere near reason to believe they do a good job on the junior person's behalf.

As an example of their focus, I overheard a union rep explaining in detail how they are attempting to cherry pick the erj contract. Then, I overheard the rep tell a junior guy that the reserve rules were unattainable and unrealistic after the junior guy asked about 4 for 4 ready reserve (instead of 4 for 8) and about not having to call to be released at the end of an assignment. Apparently these two factors alone would bankrupt the company according to the fancy union rep.

I wonder if the union rep is also considering a push to have the union reps only get 4 hours instead of 6 a day so we ensure profitability. Probably not.

Automatic release doesn't cost a frikkin dime!!!!! I just DONT understand these reps reluctance to address this issue.

Problem is.....it cost negotiating capital, which the reps need for more perks for themselves and senior guys, so it'll never happen.

So vote no then. We all get a say, and a lot of people will be looking at the reserve and scheduling sections.

Exactly, makes all thus unnecessary rumors about peoole"overhearing" what the reps are saying pointless.

Funny how these rumors always start with someone "overhearing" something. Thats how you know its BS. Reps dont negotiate in public.

I'm glad you have faith in them... Sorry I don't have a youtube video to back up the claim.

No BS here. I suggest you try it yourself. Simply mention these issues to any of them and I'm sure they will continue to give the same answer. Oh wait, they all signed a confidentiality agreement not to discuss anything from here on out.

I really feel for the erj guys who have tasted some of the good things. It's going to be a lot tougher for them to see everything fall apart than it is for us as we've had a lot less of it here.

As mentioned before we've ALREADY seen what a stellar job the CRJ MEC does at that.

Actually, we've already seen some from that fecal cinema in ATL.

Not calling for release after an assignment is a no go item for me. Either it's in there or I vote no. I'm sure there are a lot of others who feel the same way.

I agree.

Scheduling is not doing at this moment as they must have decent coverage, but the moment things get tight every single reserve will automatically be given 1 hour of ready reserve at the completion of every single assignment you complete.

It goes like this... Get done with assignment, call scheduling. Scheduling says "We'll show you back at the airport, please give us a call in an hour".

Every single time you return to the airport hoping to go home.

Those two items (4 for 4 and wait an hour) alone mean that the MEC is actively trying to get the entire ERJ side of junior folks to work an extra 35 hours a month for no pay, just like the CRJ side has been negotiated into doing. (6 ready reserve periods where you'll work an extra 4 hours for free each time and ~10 airport standbys a month during the busy season)

Woohoo.

Thats why this thread is kind of silly. It doesn't matter if the CRJ MEC doesn't care about reserve pilots because I honestly don't think the ERJ side of the JNC or the ERJ MEC would ever agree to anything less than what the ERJ side already have.

Godspeed to them then. I sincerely hope they succeed.

Now is the time to make it right. Everyone <8 yrs on the crj side is looking at being on reserve (captains + all fo's.) in the future so it is certainly worth sticking to our guns on.
