They may not say it publicly, but speak to our union leadership personally regarding reserve issues and they'll make it quite clear where they stand. And it appears that our dedicated leaders also have a heavy hand in the lines we'll enjoy for May. I'm also a ten year captain...with nearly 6 reserve years under my belt already, and it looks like I'll most likely return to reserve for May.

No, not false. I don't speak of the ERJ team, but the members didn't clarify when they made these remarks. It's possible they inferred beyond the e-jet rules.

Yes, false. There isn't a CRJ team or ERJ team when it comes to negotiations. That's why they call it a joint negotiating committee. What does "beyond the e-jets rules" mean?

Good thing that it's not just up to the CRJ union leadership then because the ERJ side would not concede for the CRJ reserve rules or anything that isn't at least as good as the ERJ reserve rules.

I hope that's true. We're all counting on it being true. Who else are we going to count on, the ASA MEC "leadership"?

No, I have spoken to the union leaders, and I assure you the union has never come out with a written or public statement saying that they aren't looking to improve reserve workrules. Not only is the notion of the union actually saying this is rediculous, this kind of false gossip is not helping their position at this stage of negotiations.

If the union is afraid of gossip maybe they should have a presence in the crew lounge. That, "you guys can call your reps" BS doesn't cut it. There needs to be a physical presence to form an efficient union. I say gossip away if they aren't going to be around to set the record straight. Especially if it is a rumor that everyone already know is true even if they haven't come out and said it.

Guys, chill.

The JNC evidently can't divulge what they're negotiating for, since that would breach their confidentiality agreement. We can all agree to disagree on whether or not the confidentiality agreement is necessary or not, but we can agree that whatever we're hearing is rumor and not fact.

Regardless of what is negotiated, we all have a vote on the contract. Enough people at ASA are affected by reserve that I think it will be a big voting bloc.

Well, that hasn't historically been a problem for them in the past now has it? Trusting the CRJ MEC to maintain the integrity of a confidentiality agreement that is.

Is there not a section of the contract that is supposed to make this happen? Is it really too much to ask to have a schedule with consistent days off? How much longer will reserves be thrown under the bus? O...i guess "it was worse in the old days"...and reserves should be happy to even have a section in the contract....GTFOH.

I never once in 3 years of reserve willing lost a day off on reserve. You answer the phone on your day off or call them when you don't have to then that is your call man. Fly your contract, go home and enjoy your life.

I think we are referring to the times when scheduling gets you before checkout; therefore, it is in the contract for them to reassign you to a day off. Unless they are your golden days. Not too many of us out there that would answer the phone with an Atlanta area code on our days off.

Three years and never reassigned into a day off is pretty amazing. I would usually count on at least one a month.

I think they are maintaining the confidentiality agreements, but we have a few pilots with their own agenda getting vague updates from the union reps then running around sparking attempting to spark fear into the entire pilot group with rediculous rumors. All that talk, then no factual evidence justifying recall will be presented at the LEC meeting. Just the fact that our union leaders negotiated this excellent PBS system earns them 100% of my support.

Um...what you are talking about is completely unrelated to the Golden Days Off problem i am talking about.

I don't know about the CRJ Side but the ERJ MEC comes around to the bases and answers questions in the crewrooms plus the local LEC meetings plus the occasional conference call.

And if you can't make those, it's almost freakish how QUICKLY a rep will email you back with a question/concern.

That is just nooooooot gonna happen on the CRJ side.

Not until the current regime is voted out

maybe the erj guys can start representing the crj guys if they are not getting satisfaction from their own.

I feel well represented. Apparently its too difficult to pick a phone these days, but not a problem to go onto FI and type out poorly worded whining about an issues that exist in rumor form only.

I agree. If I call them, they call right back. If I email them, they email me right back. I love our PBS and under no circumstances do I want to go back to line bidding. Other than a few malcontents most everyone i talk to about things are happy at Asa. Of course there are things here and there, but that is any job. The guys b!tching the most will be the same guys bitching when they move on to delta, swa, etc. i feel well represented.
