Seriously.

johnsonrod (how appropriate), it' time to stop. You have no idea what you're talking about, and you're embarrassing yourself. At least I'm embarassed for you.

Either he doesn't know or he doesn't care if he's embarrassing himself. Either way, he will continue to act childish and immature.

• A living wage must be provided for our regional pilots.

This little thing needs to be reworded. Management has their own idea of what a livable wage is. To them,a living wage is enough pay to be able to afford a couch, eat 2.19 meals a day, own a used car, pay the bills to fix it once every two weeks and take a girl on a date to McDonalds one a year....all while living in your parents basement.

Who was the CEO that uttered the famous phrase, " I know I'm paying people too much when they keep showing up for work"

Sounds like you are the guy. Never, ever, slam people on a national media site if you ever want to get a job anywhere else. Heck, I don't mind if he wants to do it, it gives me a better shot at a better job someday. He, I mean you, shot yourself in the foot. I hope you like Utah.

As a regional pilot, I have a big problem with the statement that "standards often are not as rigorous as the bigger airlines' " in the article "Air tragedy could lead to better pilot training." In aviation we all use one book for our rules and regulation: the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
All airlines — in fact, all pilots — use FAR. Numbers don't always matter regarding experience. I'll trust my life to the pilot who flies four or five times a day to an airport that has a short runway in the mountains with 2 miles of visibility over the pilot who takes off from Los Angeles International Airport, flies direct to John F. Kennedy International Airport, and goes to his hotel without a care in the world. Who would you say has more experience?

I think he (you) needs to shut up, nancy.

Ah shucks, johnson's rod. You got me. I really wish you would have PMd me before posting on FI.

What do you think I can do now to improve my chances of getting hired at a major? Please help me!

Thanks for being embarrassed for me? The point of this thread was to make sure people don't put their names is national papers and slam potential future employers, unless you are happy with your current situation. That was the point. And Box Office, you are a wheenie.

Sounds like you will be nixed either in the psych test or just due to your personality in the interview. Can't help you at all, you are a lost cause.

Excuse me? You guys seem guilty of something here. I was pointing out that it was dumb for the guy to post his name in a National publication. You guys must be friends with him, trying to cover this up. Tell your friend he made a mistake, and move on.

I'm guilty of a lot of things, can you please elaborate some more? If it's about that girl, she said she was 18yrs old.
As far as being friends with him, no. The only friends I have are my Turtle "Shelly" and my Smith & Wesson. I have no friends, especially other pilots. Pilots can only talk about 2 things. Airplanes and themselves. My turtle doesn't talk, just sits on my lap and poops. That's all the friendship I need.

Ummmm, riiight. <birds chirping> Koo Koo. Koo Koo.

In your head.

Why would the koo koo clock be in my head? That would probably upset the different voices in there, especial the evil one. The one who tells me crack peoples heads open and eat their brains with a spoon. Delish!

Can your dad beat up my dad? So you are saying the bottom 100 Delta pilots are less experienced than the top 100 Mesaba pilots? Were there any flowthrough pilots up to Northwest from Mesaba? Weren't they the most senior at Mesaba? So, in reality, the top guys went to be the bottom at Northwest, and they are still more experienced than the guys they left at Mesaba, since they are now at Delta? I got it now. What? Your logic is weak. Senior pilots at every airline usually have some experience.

Actually the point of my post if you read it again was that places like USA today like to scare the public into thinking regional pilots are ALL a bunch of 400 hr kids. My point is there are 30yr guys at Mesaba just like there are at Delta. The experience level needed to help continue the promotion of a culture of safety exists at all but a few carriers.

Not sure of the exact number, but something like the first 75 to 100 all bypassed going to Delta. Which at the time was NW and it wasn't worth the pay cut for them with the then current NW FO payscale.
