Does anyone know what Regionals are hiring Permanent Residents (Green card-Holders), and which ones are not?
I have decent flight experience; Jet time and a type rating, but seem not to be given a chance. I interviewed at a couple places and think that I would fit the general description of what they are looking for. I have good education, and also believe that I am not a tool. If anyone knows what companies are discriminating and which ones are open to hire a qualified individual not based on their nationality, please let me know.

I have a friend from Denmark who got hired at Chautaqua. Before that he interviewed at American Eagle and was told they wouldn't hire him because he wasn't a citizen or words to that effect.

PSA when they are hiring hire green card holders.

Whoever you go with though, make sure they remember to do your background check before you quit your curent job and show up for training.

Good Luck

Trans States Airlines has a bunch of pilots who are Green Card holders. They are also hiring right now.

Mesaba Airlines will hire non citizens. Come on. Israel, Canada, Pakistan, France, Lybia, where ever. Just keep in mind that it will be a 8 year upgrade, though.

A friend of a friend of mine was hired at Piedmont that wasn't a citizen.

Skywest.

BTW, if you were a tool, would you know you were a tool?

I don't really think so. How else does one become such a tool? Most of us might act like a tool, realize our toolishness, and go girlify ourselves (girls being the opposite of tools in one sense, and the embodiment of tools in another).

So no, if you are a massive tool, the surest sign that you are is that you are convinced otherwise. However, if you are truly convinced that you are a tool, you could still quite easily be very tooly--think of the J.O.s of the world--they are most assuredly aware of thier tooldom.

The only ones safe from thier own toolishness are those who are never convinced one way or the other. We must guard against the dangers of toolism, toolists, and toolocracy.

Ive got a friend that was hired and worked at United was furloughed then got a job at Aloha BEFORE getting a green card.

I got hired at CHQ with a green card

If you are not getting hired its probably because of the following: The prospective employer will have to have a background check performed on you (FBI, DOJ etc). This takes time and will cost around 100-150 bucks. Until this check is complete you can't even start training. Check out www.flightschoolcandidate.gov for more info. ( I think that's the web adress)

Really? If that was the case then Eagle are operating discriminatly and are not acting within the law they can not refuse you for only having a green card - certain jobs can FBI, CIA etc.

Anyway AirWis have green card holders in their ranks.

It's a good job your not a tool as that bars you from MESA which is a good thing :D

Well basically what they said was, we have to do some kind of background check, not sure how to do it, don't call us we'll call you, all this after being offered a job already. Never heard back from them.

I'm at Mesa with a green card and there are lots of us. One guy in my class only had a work permit, his green card application still being in process.

There are lots of thread on Eagle; from what I understand they tell you that you are hired but they can't do the background check at this time and will call you when they are able to. The funny thing is that when I was entering my information for my own background check with Mesa, Eagle was listed as a training provider!

MESA will hire you easy.
Eagle and AMR group don't even hire citizen that is foreign born because they are right wing, Delta is the same but the Delta conections and ASA/Comair will hire you, united and united system also will, continental express will but main line not.
And this law about equal whatever only exist on the paper where it looks preety like a bunch of stuf here in US but on reality it's not equal and nothing we can do about it.

I want to get a job at Luftansa. I am American and yet they don't invite me for an interview. What a bunch of crap. We give people from other countires airline jobs here, so why does it not work they other way. I've heard guys check on and they barely speak English. "Detit roach, Nortwess 292 12 thesend, Whitky." Apparenlty you don't have to be able to read, speak, and understand english to hold a certificate.

Just simmer down a little there, Ligeirinho
