I'm at Mesa with a green card and there are lots of us. One guy in my class only had a work permit, his green card application still being in process.

There are lots of thread on Eagle; from what I understand they tell you that you are hired but they can't do the background check at this time and will call you when they are able to. The funny thing is that when I was entering my information for my own background check with Mesa, Eagle was listed as a training provider!

MESA will hire you easy.
Eagle and AMR group don't even hire citizen that is foreign born because they are right wing, Delta is the same but the Delta conections and ASA/Comair will hire you, united and united system also will, continental express will but main line not.
And this law about equal whatever only exist on the paper where it looks preety like a bunch of stuf here in US but on reality it's not equal and nothing we can do about it.

I want to get a job at Luftansa. I am American and yet they don't invite me for an interview. What a bunch of crap. We give people from other countires airline jobs here, so why does it not work they other way. I've heard guys check on and they barely speak English. "Detit roach, Nortwess 292 12 thesend, Whitky." Apparenlty you don't have to be able to read, speak, and understand english to hold a certificate.

Just simmer down a little there, Ligeirinho

pinnacle airlines and green card holders

hi guys

i wanted to know if pinnacle airlines hires green csrd holders, i heard they where a racist company.

any input would be appreciated.

thank you
peace

Actually, they all have pretty much similiar requirements .. "THE RIGHT TO LEGALLY WORK" just like the U.S.

If you get an E.U. work permit and meet their minimums and requirements, they will hire you.

Lufthansa requires fluent German and an E.U. work permit.

People from other countries do get jobs here, but generally, they need to have the legal right to work here.

I won't deny the discrimination of U.S. pilots aboard though. It exists and it stems entirely from jealousy IMO. The U.S. has tons more pilot jobs than their countries do so they get attitude about it.

I'd like to work for Virgin Atlantic actually. Swiss would be nice but they require German.

Thanks for all the replies. I know about background checks, also know that most airlines have Green Card-Holders working for them, but have they hired additional ones, after the TSA took over the background checks form the DOJ (beginning of October)?

Sf3boy,

Get over you right-wing preaching crap. We don't just hire anybody. You'd have to be either a citizen, a green-card holder (which is a citizen to-be), or holder of a work permit visa (not to mention the 10-yr background cheeck). Now if you want to forgo your American citizenship, and apply for and are granted a German one, then Luftansa would be more than happy to give you a shot. Which is exactly what all those other greencard holders did in reversal. Just because you can speak better English doesn't make you more American. IMHO, you can earn your "Im-an-American" bragging rights by either serving in the armed forces, by breaking down the culture/language barriers and difficulties to pursue an American citizenship, or actively helping out within your own community. Otherwise, you are just a dude living in America who likes to bitch.

Hate to agree with Trash8 but he's pretty accurate here. Besides the fact that your FAA license if WORTHLESS ouside the good ole USA.

They don't want you at Lufthansa anyway.

Hey MoFo your full of Sh#t. Your statement

BullSh#t. 100% crap, Not true. Foreign nationals can hold dual citizenship with the US. Get your LEFT WING BULLSH#T straight before you step on your little pee-pee again.

Depends on the country. Germany, if Im not mistaken, is a country that has a problem with dual citizenship. Therefore obtaining U.S. citizenship voids the German one.

So I guess he has his left wing bullsh*t is somewhat straight.

Yep he got it right, next time lets hope we let the Stalin's of the world have the complete country. Citizenship would be a mute point.

moot

BTW, it took me 7 years from the time I moved here for school until I had a green card. During that time I taught about 100 students that went on to be senior to me at various airlines.

Go to Germany. Struggle through the immigration process for years. Eat ramen the whole time. Then get on at Lufthansa. Don't get on a public forum and act all indignant because somebody from another country had the intestinal fortitude to do it here.

A green card holder is NOT a future citizen. You can apply for green card renewals and have zero intention of becoming a citizen. Get you facts straight, Trash8MoFo. Oh wait, yes that's right, left wing folks don't let facts get in their way and cloud the issues.

I have no intention of leaving this country for employment with Luftansa or anyone else. I was just making a point for Legeirinho that the evil America is not so evil. If it was like European countries, we wouldn't hire any foreigners period. If you don't like our country, please get a job in yours.
