I can attest to STL having some of the worst food/service. BK is the master on training rude employees
Guy:
"Welcome to Burger King wat you wann?"
Me:
"I'd like 2 cheeseburgers please"
Guy:
"Okie, and you miss wat you wann"
Lady behind me in line:
"I'd like 2 cheeseburgers also"
Guy:
"Okie here's you go lady, wat did you wann again man?"
Me:
"Nothing from you, but is your supervisor back there"
Guy:
"Yea s'me wat u wann?"
Me:
"I'm not hungry anymore"

Yeah, STL food sucks. The only remotely decent place is the bagel place outside security. Burger King, assuming you get service at all, takes freaking forever. The only good place on the A concourse is the Budweiser lounge, but you can't go in there in uniform.

Best food places are anywhere in PIT (definitely a big fan of Madison Ave. Deli), the gyro place in ORD, and Potbelly's in IAD.

While picking up crew meals at the JetRock in the Philly F concourse, I watched an employee take a bag of mozzarella sticks and throw the whole thing in the deep fryer. He then proceeded to pull what was left of the bag out of the deep fryer and throw it on the floor. Anyone want some plastic with their mozzarella sticks?

now that is awesome

I don't think anything is bad as the D Concourse at the A-T-L. Not one, but two crappy Burger Kings, a Sbarro that seems to only sell terrible $7.50 pizzas, and quite possibly the worst Quiznos in the world. At least there's Chili's to keep you sane, but you can't always wait 15 minutes on a burger, ya know?

Apparently you have never been to Brownsville, TX (BRO). Of course XJT is the only airline that goes there. But, That burrito is by far the best airport food on the planet. We used to place our order on the inrange call. I swear the thing was the size of a toddler.

I used to bid BRO over nights, just to get the breakfast burrito the next morning. Those things were great. The other great place was LFT. They served the best burger ever!! It was at least a pound of meat on a huge bun. The spice they used in the patty was the best. Every time we went there Jim(station manager) would buy the whole crew a burger!

Best Airport Food

Maui Taco at DCA. HUGE burritos and plenty of tortilla chips as well. It would take me all of DCA-HSV to finish it! YUM

umm... hands down the STL American Airlines/Former TWA Cafeteria[FONT=&quot].

Breakfast there is actually good, every other time of day, really bad.

If you ever get stuck in SAT there's a real good sit-down Tex-Mex place there. You can order to go.

Awesome Taco's Carne Asada and Charo Beans. If you've never had Charo beans your missin out, pinto beans, bacon, onions, garlic, jalapenos-cooked in chicken stock and beer. No water found in those beans.

Heyas,

MSP isn't bad for variety, but I will agree the Chinese joint stinks. I had been flying out of PIT before getting based in MSP, and was used to the AWSOME Chinese by the NW gate.

I took one bite out of my General Tso's from MSP, and just about spit it out wondering "WTF did they do to this?" I thought for a moment they had left it out in the sun all day, but then I remembered that the sun never shines in MSP, so I ruled that possibility out. Then I remembered that this is Minnesota, where ketchup is a spice.

To be fair, I think a PF Changs just opened up down the hall. They have a Maui Taco, too, that everyone seems to love. MSP is getting quite the variety,

PIT rocks for food. IND is a close second. OLU gets an honorable mention for the Wendy's in the terminal that is actually clean and efficient.

MSY used to have a wicked (as in good) employee cafeteria. The redbeans and rice was without compare, and the gumbo would clear your sinuses in about 3 seconds flat.

PHL used to have an employee cafeteria also. There was a kindly, older woman that worked the grill that would make a VERY servicable Philly cheesesteak (albiet somewhat greasy). She would overstuff them...just one of those sweet people that loved everyone, I guess.

STL has some pretty bad food, poor choices and poor quality food. Nothing like gettin back on the plane after getting your double priced burgerking only to find out you didnt get any napkins and your plain burger turned into a burger with double everything nasty on it.

That Burger King screwed me out of chickin fries for a year and a half "ain't got nun" I just cried when I had to eat that ********************.

The Sbarro in Syracuse, NY nearly killed me with food poisoning. Lemon Lime Gatorade in, Lemon Lime Gatorade out, the aft exit, for 4 days straight

DFW E-gate employee cafeteria was awesome, it is now gone. DCA has nothing open to eat except Ranch1 but the line is way too long.

DCA: Maui taco... Granted you have to exit security.. but its worth it. I was sad when they closed that sub shop in the us air gates :(.... hopefully something new will be there soon...

PS, I hate ranch 1.

Anybody remember the Delta employee cafeteria in DFW? You could eat like a king for $5.

LGA US Air terminal is nasty despite it's ever evolving facade - I think I saw a rat there once too.

If you ever make it to ITH, the food there is really quite good, also props to Potbelly's at MDW and Paradise Bakery in Terminal 4 in PHX

The UNOs on the E concourse in DFW was horrible. As far as good, Maui Taco in MSP, and breakfast from the AWA Hangar in PHX (of course you had to bribe a ramper to make the run over there for you)

There's no reason to harsh on the Philly F concourse. Jet Rock Cafe has really good food made fresh to order and they have those hot/skank waitresses. You can buy a giant, tastey pretzel from the pretzel stand for $1, throw it in their microwave for 30 seconds and it's a nice snack for cheap. The Asian Chao is very fast, on a quick turn you can run in and grab some burbon chicken and be back in the cockpit in five minutes. There are also three places to by coffee on F concourse. If you don't like F concourse take the bus over to the main terminal. They have some of the best airport food in the country; Asian Sky and Sibo.

If you go to Jet Rock and you don't act like a tool, you get decent service. Have you ever watched how hard that short order chef at Jet Rock works? That guy would probably kill to fly a jet for $22,000 a year.

You are joking, right? You've obviously never gotten food poisoning from a JetRock "buffalo chicken wrap" like I have. Or had a burnt-tasting coffee drink from Hudson. Or been charged three different prices for a friggin' slice of pizza at Sbarros on the same four-day trip...and I'm nothing but polite to those people!

The Pretzel kiosk is the only decent place on F. There is a McDonalds allllllllll the way at the end of A, but thats quite the hike for McDs. Chik-Fil-A is tasty but they aren't open on Sunday. Cibo is nice when you've got a little time for food; the breakfast bagel & chicken parmigiana on the crew menu are excellent. Other than that, PHL food sucks.

PIT has Madison Avenue Deli, Qdoba, McDs, Subway, etc. CLT has Quiznos, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Chili's, the BBQ place in the food court. As far as airport food goes, PHL has once again reigned supreme as the craphole of the US Airways system.

Maui Taco in DCA Closed? A single tear rolls down my face.

You Philly haters need to be based in CLT for a few months. I've done a ton of time at both CLT and PHL. PHL is a food paradise compared to almost any airport in the country. CLT on the other hand is below average, not terrible, but pretty slim pickin's for pilots that hub through there day after day after day.

If you hate the food in PHL, you are going to have a hard time finding something you like at any airport.
