I've been thinking of buying some land and eventually
moving to the Carolina's. We like the mild climate, mountains and lakes. What area would you choose to
live and why if given a choice.

Charleston, SC
Greenville, SC
Charlotte, NC
Greensboro, NC
Wilmington, NC
Raleigh/Durham NC

Thanks in advance. I am leaning toward Greenville.

Asheville, NC. Mountains, 4 hour drive to the coast , great restaurants, decent cost of living and lots of hot hippie chicks!

How about Georgetown SC. It is a small fishing town located just north of Charleston. If I had the ability I would be there right now.

When I retired from law enforcement, I considered moving back to N.C. Then I researched the taxes. That ended the consideration. Good luck with your decision.

I'd add Columbia to your list. A great lake (Murray). Close to the mountains and close to Charleston. SEC football as well. I hope to retire there myself someday.

If your from up North, we check passports at the border.

Boone, Ashville or right near Hickory. The water skiing on Lake Hickory is fantastic. Beats the crowds on Lake Norman. Also, the Mt. Biking is pretty good in all three of those places.
