Yeah, USAir had E 170s. I wonder why those boys didn't just bid off of them and back to the 'Bus and the Boeings? Oh yeah, they couldn't because it was a different company genius...nice try though.

Oh yeah? Which certificate were they on?

By the way, USAIR saved America West. All profits are coming from the east. Losses on the WEST.

Marty

I'd like to know where your getting the financials since both sides are combined now? Two years ago the west was in the black, the east was bleeding bright red. Sure fuel has gone up a little, in the past two years but our loads are still the same or a little higher and capacity has shrunk driving up the fares. Wow! how bout that, the fares went up and people STILL bought tickets. What a concept huh?

What do those 170's say on the side? EXPRESS????? Do they represent current flight deck positions at US? Did they bring a job to the table that an AWA pilot could eventually bid into? Of course not. THAT is why they were not considered by the arbitrator.

Relax....

MCDU (Marty) is just another pissed off furloughee trying to stir the pot. He's not the line pilot he might seem to be.

The E170 argument is moot.

PCL - just because the certificate was piggybacked onto the US certificate doesn't change the fact that those MDA pilots were not mainline. They couldn't just move to/from the bigger planes with system bids...it was a different company. People choose to ignore that because it suits their argument, but it doesn't change the reality.

That would be similar to Comair pilots demanding to be integrated with Delta pilots during a merger because they were wholly owned.

Seriously - these arguments are getting more fanatical as time goes on. The only way all of us win is to start working together to better our contract. Sadly, that seems to be a very low East priority these days.

No, they weren't mainline pilots, but an LOA was put into place that gave them rights to mainline positions. For the "new" USAir not to honor that LOA would be unacceptable. I find it incredibly ironic that some West pilots tell the MDA guys that they didn't "earn" a AAA job the right way, but then they complain when the East pilots make similar condescending remarks about their West brothers. When are pilots going to realize that an air line pilot is an air line pilot, and creating all of these artificial divisions is a big mistake?

Agreed. The Executive Council has made their decision. Time to move forward. Unfortunately, doesn't look like that's going to happen.

ALPA pilot groups don't have their $hit together enough in their own houses, let alone together enough to make an attempt at cross-cultural negotiations. If these pilot groups were serious about working together on ANYTHING, seniority integration would have never gone to binding-arbitration, would it have?

u west guys are full of sh&t. U know that you got a windfall. You're just all talkin big because you think you won round 1. Can wait until this list gets thrown out and you morons get stapled.

Let's see, I started out 6% from the bottom and ended up the exact same. Haven't moved an inch in 2 1/2 years. And now we can't negotiate a new contract even though we're past our own amendable date. first 500 on the list are all easties. The furloughes who choose to come back are back (even though in their hearts they knew they wouldn't be) and all growth (upgrades, movement, new aircraft, and routes) are all east. Yup, I sure made out like a bandit.

Victors,

We're not talking "$hit" - we're countering your delusional spin.

The reality is that the West has remained reasonable, informed and overwhelmingly patient throughout this process.

I'm not going to stoop to your level. It's quite clear that a vocal faction out East wishes nothing but harm on the West pilots and will stop at nothing to ensure it happens. That includes manipulating and and stepping on their own East brothers in the process. If you want to play that game, that's your choice.

That about sums up the average eastie. You must be a PHL rep?
