But I like living near a small Texas town where I can still angle park on the main drag, still get a real malt at a real soda fountain in a real old drug store, walk to the County Courthouse and be out with my vehicle tags in 5 minutes, then stop by the Post Office on my way back to the truck and get lunch, all within about 3 blocks.

Then you, Dale, Bill and Boomhauer can hang out in the alley drinking Alamo beer. Maybe eat at Whataburger before going to the football game to watch your team beat McMaynorberry.

Chicago....

Cons:
I have to live somewhere it's flat and I hate it and pay out my arse to do it

Pros:
Absolutely not one thing.

Well that's one option I suppose. For myself, I don't care to spend $1400 or more per year for UT tickets, so when I'm not at a golf course or little country airport, I sit on the back deck with a lemonade or Shiner and watch the deer and hummingbirds...

Ditto for Dallas-In my 4 years of being a commercial pilot i've lived in 6 states. The top two places Ive lived so far have been Savannah, GA and Dallas. Although Savannah was great (pedestrian friendly, beaches, awesome bars and street festivals) I thnk it will remain a great place to visit but not to live.
For you DFW mountain-seekers try the Ozarks. Fayetteville/Ft. Smith Area is only 250 miles north. No skiing, but they have hiking, mountain-biking, rafting--lots of good stuff if you can deal with the fact that its Arkansas.

Exceptin' maybe 75 degree water and double overhead barrels.
New York is so cool, though. I love it. I just couldn't live there.

There are too many mean people in NYC (no offense to any pilots here). It feels odd to walk in Manhattan and not make eye contact with people.

Pros?

Just look at my avatar, it was taken from the front of my house. Nothing like a FL gulf-coast sunset.......

Cons?

None....I'll never live north of this latitude again....:D
