can't wait for embdrvr to flame in here with his SkyWest hate speech!
I get a kick out of the newbee punks like you that count your per diem as pay.
You have the worst vacation accrual in the industry and a lousy 401K match.
Your counterparts at other airlines get 3 to 5 times the match that you get especially when you factor in the B fund. How many days of vacation does your accrual from this year divided by 4.3 amount to? Less than 2 weeks?
As a young punk you don't understand the importance of retirement contributions. You don't comprehend how much more valuable nontaxed income is.
Hate speech? No. It's a reality check for a koolaid swilling anti-union propagandist.
And I will be laughing my a$$ off if you guys vote down the union and then ASA forces an integration. I'll laugh even harder if they get DOH and you end up as an FO for 5-7 years.
Then we'll be anxious to hear your perspective.
But for now we'll let you keep those kneepads on.
Wait start this over, are you counting per-diem as income??? If so then this whole thread is useless.
Congrats, that is good pay, is better than a school teacher with a college degree makes after teaching in North Carolina for 10 years.
All the hourly pay and name calling debates aside, how did your hourly rates really shake out over the last year? As we know, $34 vs. $37 (or whatever) bucks an hour only tells part of the story. At the risk of being called tacky, I'll share my year for perspectives sake.......
Second year at SkyWest $35.61 an hour and made a year to date of $48,600
abour a 1000 hours of credit (only about 800 flying), 26 holiday pay, 70 hours vacation, and the rest with performance rewards, some reserve credit and sick pay.
Only thought this would help to show more of the big picture. I only picked up two junior man trips througout the year. Didn't seem like a real tough year, averaged about 14 days off a month with locals, 2 days 4 days (we have some that pay 28 hours) and stand ups. Hope this info helps somebody.........

Now SkyWest pilots aren't get paid for cancellations. It's one of those pen stroke policy changes. Unlike unionized counterparts there is nothing SkyWest pilots can do about it. They just take their pay cut and keep smiling.
I got cancelled a lot these past two weeks, and etrip has been adjusted to show the pay.
emb, you seem to be really pissed off and that's o.k., but don't start pulling stuff out of your a$$ and posting here as fact.
.
Yeah, your buddy has great insurance coverage, I sure wish we had better, but let's compare the rest of his QOL issues. I'll bet it doesn't look so desirable.
I havent heard anything about this. What is your source?
