Yup, in fact they finally put out something on the AIT body scanners and TSA pat-downs. It mirrors what APA has said, but at least they put something out. Better late than never. In any case, I haven't heard that FAPA or ALPA has said anything, have they?

He was successful at being crooked because of the apathy of the pilot group. No one was minding the store. You don't see that happening at UAL, Spirit, AMR, and AirTran because the members have the leadership under a microscope. Not so much at RAH.

RAH does now. We learned our lesson the hard way, the same mistakes will never again be repeated.

I thought of another thing to add...

Probably the biggest reason that allowed things to get as bad as they were was the fact that this is a regional airline so there has always been a lot of turnover. Every time guys started getting mad, instead of fixing the problem like one would if you were at a career airline, they voted with their feet and left. Now that RAH has become a possible career airline for a larger percentage of folks, people are paying far more attention and getting more involved. Better late than never as a strong union is good not only for the pilots being represented but also for the pilots industry-wide.

As much as people don't want to admit it (me included), the IBT is finally starting to head in the right direction.

FAPA has only had to deal with RAH for a little over a year.... that's why there aren't many grievances. and those that they have had, it was in RAHs best interest to settle (MKE domicile, etc.). 11 years with RAH like the IBT has had and there will be far more grievances.

? Our grievance load has trebled. 180 greivances filed this year and counting.

What, right before a possible representation drive? How convenient...

FAPA sends me so many emails updating me on their activities (around 3 a day), it's almost an annoyance. It's been like that since before BK....

The new local was in the works when 747 went into trusteeship before this whole mess..... it had nothing to do with a potential rep. drive.

Honest question....

The RAH IBT members will not hesitate to blame any past failures on the old local.

They also trumpet the "we are our own local, we are independent from Teamster national".

However, the new local was elected after the SLI hearings.

So if the SLI goes well, does IBT national get credit or the new local that had nothing to do with the process?

If the IBT doesn't go well, will you still blame the old local, or the ones that have been calling the shots, IBT national?

I hate to even say this, but I have heard from several people that the sli draft did not look to good for the F9 pilots (including captains). Personally, STS or not, I am going to keep my eye open for another job and I think you will see many more F9 pilots leave in the following years. Hats off again to those lucky RAH guys who will be soon taking another great carriers jobs. Just a note to all you "soon to be airbus" drivers, when someone takes a dump in the forward lav, you will smell it. Enjoy and good luck guys.

Note: I understand it will be 2 years at best before we see any RAH guys come over if STS is determined, so please spare the "you don't know how this works mantra."

"We will see many more F9 pilots leave"!!! and you have
