no regional......and i wasnt refering to me....i guess we found out who ratted on us......are you same one who called about the engine covers too?

calm yourself....
I have never called about anything. I'm calmed down, but being isolated by someone who has the attention span of a goldfish drives me up a wall.
BTW, what is the story with the engine covers? PM it to me, I don't want mud dragged around in here.

Maybe you should be a better conversationlist

Just yankin your chain. Though I seriously doubt that an individual that would listen to music at levels that proclude conversation is the average inflight iPod listener. Nor are they likely to be much interested in conversation anyway.

NetJets banning iPod listening is about a logical as banning ADF AM talk show listening. It's simply another example of a knee jerk over reaction that's typical human nature.

As previously stated but with some elaboration. The FCC regulates HAM bands, 2, 10, 15, 20, 40, 80 meters etc. requiring users to be licensed. The HF radio in the aircraft is cabable of using several of these bands but the operator still needs to be licensed.

I used to fly with a guy who was licensed and when he got on there and said the words "aeronautical mobile", there would be a pile up of people waiting to talk to him. We would talk to folks from all over the world but mostly right underneath us as the signal often bounced off the ionosphere and went straight back down.

I wouldn't try and pretend your licensed either because many of these HAM folks can smell a rookie and will report you to the FCC.

Gotcha. Thanks for the elaboration.

Bottom line is that the owners pay a lot of money for us to put our full attention to their flight, and we owe it to them.
Insofar as the volume level, I was honored enough to fill out an ASAP report over someone missing 4 ATC calls when I got back to the cockpit from the back helping pax with the flightphone. We were supposed to be copying a reroute and the controller was pi$$ed, and this guy was in LaLa Land with his iPod. That's enough for me. Anyone who shows up to fly with me with one of those is in for a fight.
Call me crazy, but a quiet ADF in the background is not the same as an iPod piped in the headset.
Frickin' people are too dumb to carry a conversation. Electric stimulation 24 hrs a day! Geez.....

Tune 121.5 and try to be the first one to say "ON GUARD" every time someone broadcasts by accident...

I sit and wonder

What B-19's job is?? and why I even care?? Why is he saying these terrible things about me?

Hey Terry, If you fly with me and I miss 4 ATC calls (I don't listen to an IPOD or anything like that), before you write the ASAP report....

Would you mind slapping the sh!t out of me?

Thanks in advance "Bud", I knew I could count on you!

Frankly there are times I feel it is a chore in the cockpt. its loud, you have to feign interest and you miss all those atc calls right in the middle of your tijiuana donkey show story.

You are crazy an adf is the same as a ipod. But whatever floats your boat. Besides i'm too busy filling out every detail of a plotting chart to feign off boredom.

Real pro there. You guys pi$$ me off. I'm tired of covering the missed radio calls for you. And how swell, leaving your partner to sit there in silence like a dead body.
Owners aren't paying $20,000 a month for you to listen to music. You're on their dime in the plane, do what you're supposed to.
Let me guess....REGIONAL PILOT in past life?

Lighten up Francis.
