Why not the auto industry, or an appliance company like Whirlpool, or John Deere. There is seniority and pension involvement at those place too I bet.

Bc of the cappy thingy....OBTW since the 717s are going away, AAI is bringing a lot less airplanes and CP seats to the deal...

It always amazes me when grown men can use little high school pet slurs when trying to describe something they don't agree with or don't understand. Bong, Dildo? really guys, it makes you sound stupid and does nothing to make your case.

If you are directing that to me on my Bond/McDildo comment then fire away. I haven't a single positive thought about Claire McCaskill, and that's the last time I will say that name. I didn't know you were such a big fan of liberals, makes sense now that I have read your posts.

McDildo....:puke:

Its because of human underwear crayons like you that Bond/Mcdildo was created. The beauty of the situation is as your senior SWA Capts, stay in their seats until stroking out, you will be swinging gear for a long time, enjoy it tool bag....

Not swinging gear now chump.

C'mon canyon, mccaskill isn't even the first last name in the amendment.
No disdain for Bond?

It's not an act at all- but an amendment to an appropriations act in '08. Untested, btw.
But I'll concede bubba, it is most often referred to as M-B. but is interchangeable as amendments are not named.
Point being- vitriol for the Dem, amnesia for the Rep- standard pilot politics

Damn, Bubba is right about the name. I always heard B-M, but most responses on the internet show it the other way.

A knee jerk reaction to the AA/TWA purchase. Just throw it on an appropriations bill and all is good. I guess similiar to the Wright Amendment. Washington at its best. Carve outs for everyone!

Hopefully Claire has it coming in November. Show me hasn't worked out to well in Missou.

The AAI pilots voted for this by a margin of 85%. Thus throwing Bond-McCaskill out the window.

You could have sent this to binding arbitration but elected not to.

All your group had to do was vote no.
Ummm...yeah, whatever you say. You reverse the roles and have someone (SWA management) hold a gun to your head over non-integration and let's see how you fare. For the record, I did vote "No" to seniority corruption and captain seat theft (aka SIA #2). It amazes me how some of the OSW guys seem to think they were owed something out of this deal when all the AirTran pilots wanted was simply DOH and equal pay for equal work. If that was the case, then your fight should have been with GK to write you a check or something, or maybe reimburse for the type ratings you all bought. But instead, you take it out on your new fellow co-workers, thumb your noses down at them, steal their seniority and their CA seats thus bringing immense financial harm and loss of dignity. Such wonton moral and ethical disregard towards a fellow pilot will never be forgotton.

As for the quote you like to bring up about staple...one poster does not a majority opinion make. I know who that guy is and he is VERY junior. IOW, he had nothing to lose in terms of seniority.

You and a few others on here can keep going with that arrogance and see where it gets you in the long term. Someday you are going to need the solidarity of the OAT (Original AirTran) pilots. Keep talking smack and see where that gets you.

DOH was/is a slap in the face to OSW pilots. Also, a slap in the face to former AAI CAPTAINS that left AAI and started at the bottom of the SWA Seniority list before the acquisition was announced.

A buddy of mine was at FFDO recurrent the day the acquisition was announced. He came across two AirTran pilots there who had no idea what was going on. When he told them about the acquisition one of them broke into tears he was so happy.

We are going to need the solidarity of a pilot group with more than a handful of scabs?

DV,

Hopefully after you transition to the SW side, you will appreciate the fact that your airline was bought by SWA (vs a DAL), maybe you never will, but the few AAI former, now SWA pilots I have met seem to like it on this side better than on the other...

Shall I quote PCL then Don?, bc we all know what he said before as well.
Seriously, you actually believed you deserved date of hire and our contract rates? You're either really stupid and without perspective, or a total naive sucker.
Either way, it's long over and stop boring us

It's my tag line for the ages now....

That's interesting that you obviously have a problem with his quote. He was spot on in predicting that SWA would not play fair in a merger. Certainly you can't fault someone for saying they have nothing against SWA it's just not for them. It's actually a very mature perspective, the opposite of the whole childish "my airline can beat up your airline" crap that is so prevalent on this board.

And on this we can all agree with the exception being that you still can't seem to admit that it was an acquisition. But, that comes as no surprise to me or any other RSW pilot.

You claimed you were bringing planes. You're not. You got RSW pilot seniority for seats you will never bring to the party. Looks to me like you got a great deal. You should count your blessings, be grateful and thankful and enjoy the security of having what any one of you guys would've killed for prior to the announcement.

Take that position as long as you want. Carry that self imposed chip on your shoulder with you when you finally come to the Southwest side of the list and you'll be pretty damn miserable here. Should make for some real fun four days.

Must be that Warrior Spirit!

BTW, I'm not AirTran. I get to watch from the sidelines. I happen to find the merger soap operas that arise out of mergers as educational should the slim chance I am ever stuck in one.
Bottom line is, an airline can't acquire another airline in a hostile manner and expect to reap the benefits of that acquisition as if they didn't.
