I always said that TSA staffing is made up of nothing more but BurgerKing and TacoHell graduates.. i mean really, what requirements are there for TSA agents- NONE. They even hire people with 'light criminal backgrounds.' When these imbeciles go on their power trips and we end up paying for it going thru security..

You had the right not to go through the security line, and you exercised it...good for you. Now you just have to deal with the consequences of your decisions. Airport secruity is NOT an infringment of your rights. You need to do your research on this. When you put your bags on the belt and proceed through airport security you are SUBMITTING to screening.

I'm betting if you were on the Delta flight on Christmas you would feel different about the inconvenience. If it helps keep the people who are trying to kill everyone off our flights, giddy up. well, i am with you on this one....screening pilots is a joke and actually detracts from screening since it wastes time. since a pilot does need a weapon of any sort to cause damage, how do you screen the pilot? we know the tsa is a joke and the tsa knows we know they are a joke, so they like to harass us.

I understand why he was upset. The normal screening method that he used week in week out was no longer good enough for TSA, so they want to use a new scanning method all of a sudden. He passed through the magnetometer as always with no issue, yet now a full frisking is also required - FOR A UNIFORMED CREW MEMBER - in addition to the normal screening. All because he declined their new scanner. Why are we subjected to this BS!?!?

We are subjected to this, because we CANNOT call out our enemies that want to do us harm, because there feelings might get hurt.

Our politicians that protect our way of life are not doing their job, but thats an understatement I know, so hopefully when your in the voting booth, you will remember this conversation.

I suspect, hope that most American are going to grow weary of this political correctness crap. But more importantly I hope there will be a candidate who will come and say to the masses that this BS will end and we will get on with promoting true Americanism, and true American values, like freedom in our own country, until that happens, the decline and suffering for all Americans will continue.


BTW, I was in uniform one day going to work, and asked a TSA super why I needed to wear a uniform to pass security, she said that just the rule. So I showed her my 121 ID and asked why is this not good enough, she said "because it could be a fake" then I said that the uniform could be a fake as well, she looked at me funny and said, "what do you mean", I then told her that anybody could get a pair of blue pants and a Sporties pilot shirt and waltz on through, she then said "that wouldnt happen because they would have their ID" so then I gave her a funny look, bid her farewell and went on to the gate.

I can't speak for all crew, but when you deadhead (or commute) we are required to be in either uniform or "business casual" (also considered a uniform). I most normally commute in my uniform pants, shoes, socks & a golf shirt.

I'm not sure about the new proceedures with the body scanners, but have one deal I stricktly refuse to comply with. I WILL NOT remove any item from my uniform. If this intails a screening in a privacy room outside the view of the public eye, then that is what it takes. I ran into this a while back in Detroit. I don't want to be in the security line, and I want TSA to not want me there either. Whatever I can do to use up their available resources, I do. Also, it would be wise to have the direct number to Washington DC's TSA office on your cell phone for quick reference. Follow the rules, but follow the TSA rules- not those made up on the fly by some clown with a GED.

Privacy issues aside, I'd rather not subject myself to unnecessary radiation. I get enough of that while I'm actually working; I don't care to add more to it on my way to work.

Anyway, if you truly didn't make trouble for the TSA and were firm but polite you really have nothing to fear. The screening areas are all taped, there have been lots of people who have had issues (Congress woman who had an infant child in DCA, TV news reporter who had his 4 year old child harassed by the TSA, the woman who was forced to drink breast milk by the TSA) these were all very public TSA issues. Yours didn't make the news, but get a hold of ALPA and have them get the tapes and if your story is true you have nothing to worry about.
