Our soldiers have their 37 pieces of flare (Purple heart, Medal of Honor, etc)....do french soldiers?

Sounds like someones got a case of the Mondays.

France is the most worthless bunch of snobs in the world. I'm ashamed to be "French Canadian." They're willing to backstab their fellow allies for oil. Screw France and all anti-war supporters. Say what you want but we're moving in on Iraq this week and I couldn't care less about your opinion that you're going to write about me because when all is said and done, the anti-war supporters were totally worthless and they're stupid for wasting their time. Time is money, money is bombs to drop over Iraq. I'm out of here, have a nice day.

Subject: FW: From a Marine in Bosnia. .

A funny thing happened to me yesterday at Camp Bondsteel (Bosnia):
A French army officer walked up to me in the PX, and told me he thought we (Americans) were a bunch of cowboys and were going to provoke a war. He said if such a thing happens, we wouldn't be able to count on the support of France.

I told him that it didn't surprise me. Since we had come to France's rescue in World War I, World War II, Vietnam, and the Cold War, their ingratitude and jealousy was due to surface at some point in the near future anyway. That is why France is a third-rate military power with a socialist economy and a bunch of faggots for soldiers.

I additionally told him that America, being a nation of deeds and action, not words, would do whatever it had to do, and France's support was only for show anyway.

Just like in ALL NATO exercises, the US would shoulder 85% of the burden, as evidenced by the fact that the French officer was shopping in the American PX, and not the other way around.

He began to get belligerent at that point, and I told him if he would like to, I would meet him outside in front of the Burger King and beat his ass in front of the entire Multi-National Brigade East, thus demonstrating that even the smallest American had more fight in him than the average Frenchman.

He called me a barbarian cowboy and walked away in a huff. With friends like these, who needs enemies?

Mary Beth Johnson Lt. Col., USMC

I agree, sad what "propaganda" Wduya is trying to sell.. Fortunately it isn't really working at all as evident all around this country and other countries. I am glad that many others look at the "FACTS"....Economy is in shambles (he has no plan), social security, medicare,(he is even more lost) - I guess this will keep him outta hot water for a few more months. Evidence against Iraq.?? < That is a joke in itself.. More propaganda at it's best, I am just very glad that other nations realize that a war is not justified and are really speaking out about it.

I will be traveling their this spring and will make it known that as an American, I support the position of Cherac.

Many many million's of Americans are taking the same stand- just wait when elections come around again. (couldn't happen soon enough)

I think most of the hatred being displayed is because a lot of French really do look down there noses at America. We are the cowboys, the bullies. I dealt with it while I stationed in Europe. I even had a couple of French exchange pilots (Army) tell me about how babaric we Americans are. Well we aren't the boy scouts that's for sure. I bet they loved those babarians on Normandy beach. So you have a nice trip over there to France and while you're at it why don't you stop by one of these tourist attractions.

I have been to Epinal, my grandfather is buried there. You pointing out the thousands of American soldiers that died defending Europe has absolutely no relavence to this issue. That is quite a cheap shot. The petty cultural wrap a flag around your head rivalries are simply fluff that are distractions from the real substance of the consequences of war.

As for the other folks with the "if you don't like it, leave" attitude, you haven't the first clue about the USA.

Just as American as any of you.

Viva Zapata-

Doubtful you are a pilot. I think you're just here for flamebait. If that was a sincere post, you are woefully underinformed. France stands to lose billions if hussien is deposed. They care nothing for peace. They are currently fighting in the Ivory Coast. Did you know that? I bet not.

350 Driver-
Do you have enough room for Alec Baldwin Barbara Streisand, Jeanine Garafolo, and Martin Sheen, and enough Jet A to get you to France? Bsuh-bashing is a pursuit for trendy pseudo intellectuals. You've made your fashion statement. More brie, anyone? Non?

Supporters of France are dupes of the first order.

And by the way, eighteen, yes EIGHTEEN (18) European countires support the US position. France, germany and belgium do not. You are in fantastic company.

What about the support we have in several Arab countries? They could stop this cold if they wanted. Do some reading.

Right......30% evident

Wow. Attacking your fellow Americans for thinking for themselves and speaking about it. The first poster sounded the most American to me. Let us all think what being American is really about. It seems like a lot of people are forgetting what this country is supposed to be about. Soon everybody will be afraid to say what they think. Sounds like one of those 'bad' countries I learned about in history class when I was a kid.

Everything some people have accused the French Government of doing, the United States Government has been guilty of also. We don't need childish finger pointing.

Can we PLEASE get back to aviation on this "AVIATION BOARD."
