You wouldn't be saying that if the gun was pointed in the other way when it went off and shot the FO..... Sh!t does happen to everyone and we all make mistakes, but this was stupidity. We're suppose to carry the weapon (wear it on the belt) WITH THE GUN ALWAYS SNAPPED. Do you get it? NEVER EVER SHOULD IT BE UNSNAPPED, unless you have a threat in the cockpit. THATS IT..... Like someone said earlier.... this wasn't an accident, it was stupidity and negligence. And if you wanna call me a moron for thinking this guy should be fired then fine, but I'd bet my paycheck that you wouldn't think the same way if that bullet caused a death in that "accident"......

You missed my point. It's easy to point the finger when it's not happening to you.

I agree, and its actually even worse than that. Those same folks pleading for benevolence for an east pilot are attempting to financially ruin 18 individual awa pilots by suing them for such 'crimes' as web board posts. A federal judge dismissed the suit with predjudice, and they are appealing the ruling. Repugnant indeed.

You left out the part about the westies crapping in boxes and mailing it via USPS. Or jamming USAPA phone lines in an attempt to run up the phone bill..... just to name a couple.

A federal judge dismissed the case with predjudice, why is that? You guys had more than a little trouble presenting your "case" and "evidence" that day in front of the judge.

usapa is just plain repugnant, period.

Sigh.....

I give up.... its like talking to a brick wall.

ps And if this did happen to me, because I was stupid and negligent AND DIDN'T FOLLOW SOP'S, then I'd expect to be fired with no chance of getting my job back... period.....

Im done with this....

Maybe they did not want to bring a box of westie dodo to court with them?

Good luck "proving" which coast some feces came from. I will add however, that every time I'm in PHL, CLT, PIT, BOS, LGA, and DCA. I see hundreds of walking, talking Eastie POS's. That I can prove.

None of this argument has any credibility UNTIL USAPA forms a fund to help the furloughs... You have west guys w/ 4 years of your precious longevity that will lose their jobs before new hires w/ less than 1 year.
How do you justify that?
What are you doing about it?

and remember-- noone is confused about the new hires place on any seniority list.... they are junior to everyone.

I never said he didn't follow SOP's. But I'm glad that your being honest with us and would let your entire livelihood go without the least bit of resistance.

You refuse to pay dues, yet you demand a payout?

Uniform #9 and furlough #7 buddy...... Imagine sleeping on your arm for about a year straight and how numb it would be at that point..... that's about how numb I would be if I was fired or furloughed or my company goes bankrupt again..... ENTIRE LIVELIHOOD? wow.. please tell me you're joking.... after all this bullsh!t you haven't invested in anything else? Ha... you're in for a rude awakening my clueless friend.

This guy has not done anything else for the last 24 years, but be a captain at a major and at one point he was at the top of the heap in pay. Parity +1 right boys and girls....mmmm... 99 wasn't it? And at 55 the guy can't support himself for more than 6 months? AAAHHHH..... And you're probably one of the guys that probably thinks we should all pitch in and "rescue" these idiots that bought bigger houses than they could afford and are getting thrown out in the street...... why not.... fu(k what the junior guy want or needs right?

Do the right thing USAPA and get a furlough fund set up for the guys/gals that are getting screwed out of seniority and let this parasite get what he deserves. Done...........................

You refuse to represent us, then you demand we pay dues?

It's much worse than that. They demand submission. They demand we allow them to staple us. They demand respect all the while they spit on us and withhold no effort to personally bankrupt innocent West Pilots. They demand our money, or, under the totally unintended use of RLA, They'll demand the company fire all of us.

The reality is they're a bunch of cry baby, whining little bitches that have been stomped on their entire careers. They never put up a fight because they're all cowards.

Bradford, Cleary and King are the scum of the Earth and the biggest cowards of them all.

They've become an institutionalized bully. And just like the bully kid on the playground, the best defense is the hardest punch to the nose you can muster because at the heart of every bully is simply a quivery lipped coward.

FUSAPA, the battle in Federal Court is rapidly approaching.

Turtle......plz refresh my memory.

I don't recall this excuse for a union ever helping a westie.

Details please.

Capt.

I doubt that a west pilot would accept that USAPA had done anything for them.. even if they were given a Capt A330 with weekends off.

Alas, perhaps if it was your child who was in need you would remember.

Without knowing the guy, I can't make that call. I think the original post was asking for a donation. Simple yes or no would suffice, wouldn't you think?

Ok.....turtle21 has not answered the question.

Does anybody have any 411 on the info turtle says that the low life union asked for donations to help out a westy prior to the election?

I don't recall and don't believe anyone can recall where the A'wholes requested help for anybody on the west list.

If you have facts and recollections that I missed, please fill us all in.

The one sided association has selective memory and don't believe for one second they have ever asked for a donation or assessment for a westy in need.

Thanks for any info.

Capt.

As long as AL-SAPA is trying to steal our seniority it doesn't matter what else they may do for us. 161 AWA pilots are about to be furloughed who wouldn't be if we'd gotten a joint contract last year. I'm sure you understand.

I'm wondering what the over/under line should be for the number of times that dirtbag outfit has to pass the hat for the crisis du jour before it finally folds.

You refuse to pay dues, yet you demand a payout?

This is why you have NO credibility with the pilots at the rest of the majors. At least at my major. I have new hire friends put on both sides-- even the ones getting to stay a bit don't believe what's going on.

Drama.

A Letter, THE FIRST Thing I Agree With That Usapa Has Done................

A LETTER, THE FIRST THING I AGREE WITH, THAT USAPA HAS DONE................
IT WILL PROBABLY FALL ON DEAF EARS IN TEMPE!
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Fellow Pilots,
The following letter was sent yesterday to CEO Doug Parker from USAPA President Steve Bradford:

US Airline Pilots Association
5821 Fairview Rd., Suite 400
Charlotte, NC 28209
877-678-7272
August 19, 2008 Dear Mr. Parker, During the pre-pilot bid conference calls and meetings, USAPA was informed that the furloughs resulting from the upcoming East and West bids were due solely to industry hardships created by the cost of fuel. This was reiterated by you at the recent CLT Crew News Event this month, where you stated that furloughs were not associated with contract talks, but rather due to fuel costs. On June 12, relevant USAPA Committees had their first conference call with Management regarding the upcoming pilot bid driven by the announced furloughs. At that time the price of crude oil was $136.74/bbl and rising. On July 4, 2008, the price of crude oil hit $145.74/bbl and was still rising. Times are changing, and it now appears that the bubble has burst with oil prices predictably falling as oil speculators retreat with their profits. In addition, the US Dollar is now gaining strength in the international markets. As I write this the price of oil has dropped to under $113/bbl. It is also worth noting that US Airways has progressive competitors looking to gain market share as we furlough and retreat. So there we have it, oil off nearly 30%=2 0from its high and slipping, and a stronger US Dollar. On behalf of our pilots who are facing extreme financial hardship due to the pending furloughs, we must ask the question, “Since the furloughs are the result of rising fuel costs and the fuel costs are now retreating, has the Company considered canceling the furloughs and instead position itself to compete aggressively in the marketplace?” In addition to the human impact, there are other factors that support an end to the furloughs. The East has already started extensive and costly training for the October bid. There were 426 displacements just on East bid 08-04, which generated a total of 384 training events. The West Displacement Bid will also generate significant training events, leading cumulatively to enormous Pilot training costs for the Company. In addition, there is the question of timing, concerning when, if ever, the Company will realize cost savings from the furloughs given the consequent training events. We cannot predict where oil will go from here, however the current retreat in oil prices offers you a wonderful opportunity for bold leadership. Stop the furloughs, save the training costs, and compete aggressively in the market place. Your positive actions would also give a much needed boost to your professional employees who make US Airways Fly, and could help restore some sorely lac king confidence in Management. Finally, there is nothing that will preclude you from reinstating a future cutback should oil prices increase. Sincerely, Stephen Bradford
President, US Airline Pilots Association

USAPA relayed Morgan Perry's difficult ordeal to all pilots who read the website, which perhaps didn't include too many West of the Mississippi. They graciously referred to her dad as a USAir pilot.

http://www.morganperry.org/

The irony of the West rage is that it spurs them to spend so much time trying to prove USAPA doesn't exist, in name or deed. Some even spill out with emotional bursts of "We HATE you, and we don't believe you exist."

What do AWAPPA members and atheists have in common?

That's a pretty big IF.

Even with ALPA in charge is would be years before a joint contract came about.

So the result would be the same, no doubt about it.

That was taken off the AWAPPA website to show the West that they had a mole and that they were being watched. It was a veiled threat. So, not surprisingly, it came to pass that USAPA subsequently sued individual pilots for web posts on the AWAPPA board.

Sorry. Not Altruistic in any sense of the word.

Sadly, this phony act of kindness was fueled by vindictiveness and hate. Mark King alone has enough of that for your whole group...and he's just one pathetic easthole.

Also there is nothing "gracious" about referring to her dad as a US Air pilot. He is. Fact. Period.

Your statement just provides another peak into the window of the East psyche. You guys think you're gods gift despite all the Bk's, contractual failures, concessions, losses, furloughs, and downgrades...all the while so proud of your almighty "yields" that have done nothing but "yield" your group the ranking of bottom feeder and habitual loser of the industry.

Truly a delusional bunch.

Last summer the airline was profitable and negotiations were progressing. There was momentum to get combined operations. DAL and NWA just proved a joint contract can be accomplished in short order. Therefore, your assumption is without merit.
