I guess this is just more signs of fun things to come. Make no mistakes, this will be happening more and more in the coming months. If this works for UAL you can expect it everywhere there is an opportunity.

To put it simply, UAL et. al. are using these techniques to "Wal-Martize" this industry. Wal-Mart bullys their suppliers to drop costs until they get the lowest possible prices (using Chinese factories, etc.) and these mainline carriers have taken note.

No offense to the UAL pilots but I hope they go out of business. Even with BK protection they are still trying to screw the little guys. They just seem to be a cancer to this industry.

I am sure there is no offense taken... Sheesh, it's not like there are thousands of families out there with their futures tied to UAL's existence... Pretty heartless if you ask me.

It looks like the future of UAL is tied to this potential FA strike (in January?). With one month to bid and a month to wait for the UAL decision we could all be looking at an unhappy New Year. I don't believe UAL can survive a FA stike. The pilot's have more to lose but I think we can count on them NOT to cross a line even if it means going under.

I don't believe they can strike until the point where their current agreement is thrown out by a BK judge at UAL's request. But, they are certainly throwing down the gauntlet.

I'm getting to the point where I don't give a sh!t anymore where this goes, if UAL goes out of business, if we lose our flying for them, whatever.

Heavy Set, GO AWAY, all you do is make comments on the message board you know nothing about. And I'm sure your not even a pilot, the only thing you fly is MS flight Simulator.

He does have the Caribbean scenery package, you know.

The only people at ual not suffering is the overly inflated upper management The real problem is the Harvard educated suit stuffed with poop, these blowhards and everyone that thinks like them are the reason why we are getting focked. First they instill a highly moral business ethic into poop without the suit at a fine institution such as Harvard. Second thing they do is market the Walmart culture to the masses, who go online and brag about saving 2 dollars on their round trip to Vegas. Third they get a job at Ual, Usair, Twa, AA, or any other sucker company that will give them their millions. Fourth they reap their hard earned benefits by putting the company into the crapper and blame everybody else for their ineptitude as they cruise out the door with their cash. Let the fa's CHAOS strike to choke them. Let them sell their 911 turbo if the company goes ch7. Fock them. We'll get another job. Its not the frontline employees who drive these companies into the ground, its the management. We the labor must stick together. Stop the price wars, stop shopping at Walmart.

Chautauqua CEO said in his last weekly update that CHQ/Republic is not interested in acquiring any more 50 seat aircraft. The future at CHQ/Republic is E170 and E190s. We will not be bidding on the Air Wiskey 50 seat flying.

It's not 50 seat flying up for bid. It's 70 jets up for bid. So your CEO can still bid on all of Air Wisconsin's flying with your 170's. Sorry... you're not making me feel any better.

Air Whisky Drivers good luck. Always thought I would like to fly for Air Whisk... I guess the only way to remain competetive is to have correctly hedged fuel or file bankruptacy. Skywest will be next on UAL's list.....

I wouldnt worry about SkyWest being next. Air Whisky didnt have a contract, only a MOU. SkyWest has a contract. In fact, my money is on SkyWest picking up on some of that flying. I know SkyWest is VERY unhappy with ZW ground handling of SkyWest flights in ORD, and would love to take over the handling there.

Also heard SkyWest is looking at the E170. It spent the night in SGU a few weeks ago.

Don't worry about Skywest????

I heard that at Westair before I got the letter saying that I needed to find another job at the end of May '98. I'll tell you something. The only thing I hate about Skywest is that we are in bed with United (maybe soon I'll feel the same about Delta). They have no love for us and if it was in their favor, they'd get rid of us. Also, contracts mean $h!t in Ch. 11. Hopefully we can make a bunch of money so we can survive when (not if) it happens.

Sorry I sound bitter, but I just don't trust United......
