BATFE rids Univ. of ninja threat

ATF agents are always on alert for anything suspicious — including ninjas.

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm agents, on campus Tuesday for Project Safe Neighborhoods training, detained a “suspicious individual” near the Georgia Center, University Police Chief Jimmy Williamson said.

Jeremiah Ransom, a sophomore from Macon, was leaving a Wesley Foundation pirate vs. ninja event when he was detained.

After being held in investigative detention, he was found to have violated no criminal laws and was not arrested.

“It was surreal,” Ransom said. “I was jogging from Wesley to Snelling when I heard someone yell ‘freeze.’”

Ransom said he thought a friend was playing a joke before he realized officers had guns drawn and pointed at him.

ATF agents had noticed Ransom’s suspicious behavior and clothing and gave chase, apprehending him, Williamson said.

“Agents noticed someone wearing a bandanna across the face and acting in a somewhat suspicious manner, peeping around the corner,” said ATF special agent in charge Vanessa McLemore.

Ransom was wearing black sweatpants and an athletic T-shirt with one red bandanna covering the bottom half of his face and another covering the top of his head, Williamson said.

“Seeing someone with something across the face, from a federal standpoint — that’s not right,” McLemore said, explaining why agents believed something to be amiss.

Agents noticed Ransom peering around a corner and said when police sirens sounded, he took off running.

After chasing Ransom and identifying themselves, ATF agents detained him, turning him over once University Police arrived, McLemore said.

Ransom said Williamson told him the incident should not have been handled in such a manner and he would file a complaint with the ATF.

“I was in shock, to say the least,” Ransom said.

no $hit sherlock, from what you said, I guess you lock yourself in the hotel room and never venture out to see what the rest of the place is doing. (there's more to your layover than the Sheraton)

Have you wandered the street of kuwait or dubai to see what people do with their lives? Have to as much as left the front doors of your hotel room while you were over there? Since you mentioned the hotel staff, I doubt you know anything about the place.

People like you are the exactly the reason why AMERICANS are so hated overseas. Bigots!

I think it goes a bit deeper than that...

Do you mean to say that this whole war on terror could be over if we could just get G200 to start leaving the hotel room and eating out more... ??? Wow, your brilliance and diplomatic skills are impressive...

I was boots on the ground for extended periods in Afghanistan and farther west. Had to carry a gun, roll on convoys, etc. and saw extensive interaction with the population, (in addition to flying over both places).

The point I was making is that I had a lot of opinions about the place and the people that were turned on their head after actually experiencing it myself rather than through FOX or CNN.

I just think people should hesitate before making sweeping statments without having experienced it themselves.

Respectfully,

Touché! I humbly retract my former statement/question. Thanks for the post.

I don't however, retract my opinion that wolfpilot is a nutcase. Maybe he needs a nice vacation somewhere warm. Indonesia?

Does anyone ever wonder if people from other countries (go ahead, pick a few....Switzerland, South Africa, Slovakia, whatever) feel and act the same way that Americans (or at least those in this thread) do when they travel abroad? Apparently, the whole world is a toilet and everyone is against some of you-at least in your minds.

Turd world? The whole world is a toilet and everyone is just passing through!

May we all meet in the by and by, in that great metropolitan sewage district in the sky!

Hahahaha.

wandered the street of kuwait?

Kuwait (capital K) is a country, "dude"
Dubai (capital D) is a city, "dude"

Im thinking you are just a jackass pretending to have been places...

yup, keep wandering around thinking you blend in and that people love you.....pretend you are the rare "non bigot" American there to prove to the world we are all about love. You embrace Islam for us. Please do, I will chuckle as Saeed slices off your head on CNN. After all, those guys were "non bigot" Americans seeking peace with our Islamic friends right? Chant with me..."allah is great" as you drive the 767 into a building. But hey, they are just the rare extremists huh? You're an absolute idiot if you buy that $hit.

yeah, they would love you alright, love to slit you F'n throat.

The smart traveler to the Mideast enjoys the culture carefully, always keeping aware as to what he/she really stands for in MANY of the locals eyes...

You obvioulsy have not got out much if you think otherwise.

Good luck out there if/when you actually experience it.

News Flash

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Reasserting his role in Sept. 11, al-Qaida conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui told jurors Thursday he has "no regret, no remorse," was disgusted by the heart-rending testimony of victims and relatives and only wished they had suffered more. He said hearing a Navy officer sobbing in court made his day. "So you would be happy to see 9/11 again?" Prosecutor Rob Spencer asked. "Every day until we get you," the bearded 37-year-old Frenchman shot back.

This people is what your enemy is thinking.

For all you feel good liberals out there... Send a letter to this fella and tell your sorry for making him so mad.

For the rest of us out there... When he dies, one down; 200 million more to go.

Or until a blonde haired, red blooded, blue eyed American knocks on my door wanting those jobs....but he better be price competitive.

Dump the welfare system and see how many Americans can suddenly find work.

Something for all of you to keep in mind. If you are one who watches the 9/11 tapes or listens to the CVRs on a regular basis, how long will it be before you become de-sensitized to what you are watching? How long will it be before watching it doesn't evoke the same feelings it does today? Don't say never, because I'm guessing 10 years ago you would never have said that a 9/11 would happen.

It is possible to remember exactly how one felt that day without constantly subjecting oneself to reminders. Trust me, if I wake up tomorrow and learn that Bin Laden is dead, I will jump for joy and praise whichever one of our brave soldiers did it.

I think very few regularly watch such horror. I haven't personally seen a single one of the "beheading" tapes, or the "Juba the Sniper" tapes. It makes me sick and angry. I think anyone who gets their jollies watching videotaped death is already desensitized and a bit off in the noggin already.

Every so often, some clod will ask for a source for live CVR of a fatal accident, and I'll be the first to say "What the H3ll do you need a tape for? If you MUST, get a transcript if your true desire is to learn." I've heard more than one in training and it's horrible.

Repeat after me: Saddam had NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11.

Not true. Saddam may not have been directly involved in 9-11, at least not in any way that we know of, but it is not true to say that he had nothing to do with it. Saddam had a long history of supporting terrorist groups. Al Qaeda was but one of these.

In fact, Bush never claimed that Saddam collaborated on 9-11.
http://www.factcheck.org/article203.html

But that is only part of why we are in Iraq.

We are in Iraq because he also had a WMD program. The big lie is that we did not find evidence of WMDs or Saddam's research program. The Iraq Survery Group (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_Survey_Group) reported that Iraq had numerous development programs for banned weapons and was maneuvering to end sanctions to restart those programs in earnest. They also had systems to procure items for weapons development that were banned under the sanctions.

The only thing that we didn't find was stockpiles of weapons, and that has been what the media and Democrat furor has been over. They would lead you to believe that we found nothing. They lie.

The big question is what happened to the stockpiles that we knew existed, but did not find. My belief is that they were moved somewhere friendly. (Syria, I'm looking in your direction.) After all, in the 12 year "rush to war," Saddam had ample time to hide and relocate his stockpiles.

The combination of WMDs and terror ties is dangerous. It is even more dangerous now with Iran, because President Mahmoud sees that the Democrats and liberal care more about regaining power than about truth, victory, and security. He is emboldened by that. A bold madman with a nuclear weapon is very dangerous indeed. Mark my words, he will not be deterred by negotiations.

Where is your proof? There is just as much circumstancial evidence to prove he was involved as there is to claim he wasn't.

We know:
1. The UN's Oil for Food program was rife with corruption
2. Saddam was skimming money from the program by selling black market oil
3. Many corrupt officials in his regime also sold oil on the black market
4. Saddam funded $25k "job well done" gifts to families of suicide bombers
5. Saddam's closest and most corrupt lieutenants had ties to OBL, Hamas, etc.
6. Saddam had chemical weapons (WMD's) and used them against Iran
7. Saddam had chemical weapons (WMD's) and used them against Iraqis
8. Saddam had plenty of warning to move incriminating equipment before 4/2003
9. Saddam's lieutenants repeated thwarted UN inspectors in the 1990's.

If I've got this right...
Saddam had the desire, technology, money, and proven ability to channel desparately needed funds or fraudulent passports to the ilk who would bomb a Night Club in Bali, or hijack four airliners, or bomb shopping malls and hotels.

Yep, Saddam had nothing to promoting Radical Islamic Terrorism. I'm convinced.

In legal terms that is "probable cause" in terms of a search and "motive" at the trial.

I can't believe the pansy arsed liberals who think we can all get along and sing Kumbya while holding hands and the world really is a nice place with people who can be reasoned with. Keep the memories of 9/11 alive, in fact keep remembering the devastation. Listen to the people pleading for help on those tapes. Keep your ire and never forget what those butchers did and remember the parties in the streets in the sympathetic countries!

There is only one way to deal with the ilk who would cowardly attack civilians by hijacking airplanes, buses, detonating remote bombings or such...and it comes in various sizes...5.56, 7.62, .40, .45, or even .50...calibre that is.

Kill them all and let them find their Allah and all his grandure. BTW, here's your Religion of Peace...

...funny...they (the ones you want to kill) think just like you!

I just wondered across this thread.

I'm glad MOST Americans still love our country and the socialists who have recently taken over the Democratic Party, is still the minority.

One final thought...

We are winning the war on the ground in Afghanistan and Iraq but we are losing the war in the mainstream media, right here on our soil. Pathetic!

So only conservatives love this country? FKN laughable. Did it ever occur to you that we tree hugging liberals love this country DESPITE it's mistakes. Did it ever occur to you that we want to correct those mistakes in order to make this country even better?

Go ahead and be blindly led down this fcked up path. I'll continue to bitch about it and maybe if there are enough of us we can make a change for the better.

I understand they are a little short-handed over there. Call up your local recruiting office and find out what you can do.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner.

Why should they when we have self-hating liberals here who are standing by to apologize for them?

I have to laugh . . . the clowns who bash our response in the sandbox are the ones who have never been there, and are usually young, naive, and have been brainwashed recently on a college campus by a bunch of hairy-legged, man-hating, baby-has-two-mommies and are now their Milquetoast-munching male apologists . . . . don't get me started.

Where did I say anything about conservatives? I'm an independent voter, I wouldn't want to vote for President Bush today because of many of his domestic stances but who are you going to vote for, Hillary?

I wish the Democratic party would start a grass root movement to take back their party from the socialists. I think both parties are so screwed up it sickens me. I am also sick of the "Just Hate Bush" crowd.

The Republican party may be too far gone to save, I'm sorry to say. I want some real leadership to step up to the plate in the Democratic party and make the Republicans work for their votes.

And since I'm on a rant....

I don't care about the lack of WMDs, or any other reason why you say we shouldn't be in Iraq, we're there and nothing but COMPLETE victory is unacceptable.
