Why didn't binding arbitration happen at Airtran? What magical powers did SWAPA have to force an agreement prior to binding arbitration?
The exact Xs and Os are what they are. It's basically a fair integration. But to get that fair integration out of LUAL pilots? This is an enormous win for Continental pilots! That can not be stressed enough. These same senior LUAL pilots have put their fellow ALPA pilots on the street and then flew their airplanes for 15 years. We out maneuvered LUAL on many levels.
What other pilot groups has Katz worked with?
Is this thread about UAL CAL? WTF are other airlines taking a dump in here?
AirTran.

Not really. Our Merger Committee was too incompetent to allow Katz to actually do his job for us.
Let me get this straight, F.O O, you are proclaiming some sort of projection that if AirTran would've went to arbitration you would have gotten something like the United folks got?

Gotta laugh at quickly DAL/SWA creeped into this. Amazing.
EXACTLY! Ask USAPA how they plan to get away with trying to pretend to represent all of the pilots while obviously choosing one side over the other. ALPA should eliminate the waste of time that is negotiations and go straight to arbitration. The arbitrator has no interest in the outcome, while the double-agent union has to placate the larger dues source or risk them bolting. In Prater's case they did both.ALPA's official stance should be just binding arbitration because it allows them to just dust their hands clean and walk away with the responsibility thrown on a geriatric lawyer.

Funny I heard he recommended letting the rank and file vote on AIP1.
You heard wrong.
