BTW for the record. A lot of pilots stayed out on strike till the end and made huge sacrifices. It was a long and tough battle and way to complex to get into here, but suffice to say to characterize all senior pilots as "scabs" is a very ignorant and short sided point of view. A lot of pilots at CAL from a lot of varied backgrounds, like all airlines.

I work with strikers. You evidently don't.
 
Those "old farts" he is whinging about are the ones who fought the toughest labor battle in our history against Lorenzo, at great expense to their careers, THEY won that battle but it took a LONG time. Yes some were scabs, but a lot were not. They fought the good fight and finally managed to get a good contract (with ALPA's help) in the 90's.

Here is the prevailing etiquette a striker uses for guys who want to throw around the scab word: Shoot first, ask questions later. I'm saying the above words of yours indicate you need a correction. The "scabs" didn't win a "battle". You need to clear that up asap. I don't agree with this kid's thesis either, but you can't give a guy who crossed a picket line a pass over a frustrated kid.
 
All I am saying is it's wrong to treat all senior pilots as if they are scabs, read my post carefully, I did not say the "scabs" fought the good fight, the majority of them are not scabs and they fought a very very tough fight. They deserve this kids respect.

They have his respect. They do not deserve his future.

While they were on strike they collected strike pay. Funded by the membership through assesments. These guys got their fair share in the long run. But most importantly, when they were engaged in this "fight" the tab was being picked up by the senior alpa membership at the time. It's their turn to pick up the tab and pass on the advancement. Don't want to get treated like a scab? Don't act like one.
 
This guy is a tool beyond words. A good example...

He had a BMW key-chain, but when asked what kind of BMW he'd say "I don't drive a BMW, my parents in South Carolina do, I have a Nissan Sentra, but I like the BMW look".

What a d-bag, riddle tool and now it seems he's sucked enough c0ck to work his way, soon enough he'll be the next Frank Lorenzo!
 
I will say this, this poor kid hasn't done the junior CAL pilots any favors in the upcoming merger talks. Let's see, we have furloughed UAL guys paying their dues vs. kids like this with a heightened sense of entitlement..........

Being furloughed is not "paying their dues". Where did you come up with that? It's a terribly unfortunate thing to be furloughed, but the reason is real simple: An ignorant acting, greedy, bootlicker, concessionist (in other words a guy like you) signed away their scope clause in an attempt to save his own retirement plan. You can't gloss that over, there is no better example than these two pilot groups. CAL didn't totally screw over the junior, UAL did. Some version of the CAL scope clause has to survive the merger and then we can get furloughs back to work. I get that you wouldn't mind sabotaging that possibility and get the UAL furloughs fighting the CAL junior because you're that kind of person, and it helps mask the failures of old guys. But remember the real reason they are furloughed is old guys blew it, and keep your nose out of it.

Again, this guy's resume says "intern". Nuff said. UAL has them too.
 
If this tool wants upgrades based on merit he might as well enjoy the right seat. Seem him in action, one word, Scarry!

So are you willing to put in the time and effort to master your field? Will you accept nothing short of success? Will you study hard and challenge yourself to graduate at the top of your class? Will you join clubs and organizations with the intent to LEAD? Will you spend your free time networking in your field? Will you demand excellence in everything you do? But that will be largely determined by how much sweat equity you are willing to put into your life and your career.

Korry Franke entered Embry-Riddle in August of 2000. He worked for Embry-Riddle as a part-time flight instructor from the Fall of 2001 until his graduation in 2003. He completed two unpaid internships with Atlantic Coast Airlines and with Continental Airlines. Following December 2003 graduation (one semester early), Korry's first job paid a $14,000 per year salary as a flight instructor/charter pilot in Virginia. He then gained employment in July 2004 with American Eagle Airlines where he flew the Saab 340B and then later the Embraer 135/140/145 Regional Jet. In March 2006 Korry gained employment with Continental Airlines as a pilot and currently flies the Boeing 757 and 767. He has been to Europe 16 times since June 1 as well as Aruba, Hawaii and several domestic destinations. He is 24. He believes unquestionably that without Embry-Riddle, he would not be realizing his dreams today. You can do it, too!

A better thesis to explain what is going on would have been to try to explain how ethics figures into the retirement age change. It was believed to be unethical and discriminatory that US pilots couldn't fly past 60 when pilots from other countries could. However, when the rule was changed there were almost no amount of ethics figured into the equation. In fact, the active lack of consideration for ethical seniority allocation is incredible. Ask someone you know who supported 65 as being more ethical than age 60 about whether or not any ethics figured into how the rule changed, or how the rule effected us all, and what you'll get is: It's Federal law, it doesn't have to be ethical. Right back where we were in the first place with age 60.
