I just got off the phone with a good friend of mine. He was a 99 hire at UAL, spent some time on furlough, came back and was just offered a job with Fed Ex. He told me that when he went to give his resignation to the CP, the CP (in ORD) was very friendly about it, even talked with him about it, not trying to convince him to stay, especially with a Fed Ex offer. He didn't want to resign from UAL, as he said it was a GREAT job, and had an awsome time there, but thought the decision to go to Fed Ex would be a better one.
What struck me was, when he handed the secretary his letter of resignation, she put it on top of a stack she had on her desk, he asked her what that was, and it was a stack of resignations, over 700 of them.
My point to all of this, if someone in the know at UAL has any information regarding any of this, where the heck is everyone going that is bailing out from United?
