The Wholly Owned could get sold off. When US Airways/United Tried to merge the first time the United FA's Contract stated that the FA's at the WO'ed had to be on the Mainline Seniority! Hence PSA/ALG/PDT were gonna be sent packing to ACA.
Don't know how much that has changed.

Lets hope a lot has changed. Bad time to be looking for a job.

I'll float this idea....

UAL, DAL and USair are all going to be looking for ways to eliminate Republic as a fee for Departure carrier, they are not going to keep funding a competitor through Shuttle, CHQ... only to ultimatly fund Frontier.

With the Anti-trust issues posed, the route structure over lap that exist now, is significantly less then when in merger talks in the 90's, 05 or last in 08... UAL has shrunk quite a bit since then...

That being said, an asset swap for slots at various airport like DCA, IAD...etc to Republic in exchange for being released from the current contracts that they both have with Republic on the E-Series platform. The "new" routes, gates and slots that were given to Republic would be home to the previous aircraft from UAL and USair.

No more Anti-Trust issues..... No longer funding a direct competitor....

Just a thought....
