Please write back after your "friend" interviews at Southwest and gets his as$ handed to him once they find out that he's logging PIC as an FO. I'd love to hear all about it.

Maybe something like this...

Interviewer: So, I see you have logged 1000 hours of PIC turbine in the CRJ, but you don't have a type. Just how exactly is that?

Interviewee: Well, at Embry Riddle, we interpret the regulations differently from the FAA. For example, when the Captain goes and takes a dump, I'm the only one at the controls so therefore I'm the Pilot in Command.

Interviewer: Thanks for your time, we'll let you know.

Now that's funny coming from a Gators fan! Sorry but I root against Zook for all the reasons that I can get!

He's a Riddle guy....has to be.

HAHA HA HA !!!!!

OMG! dude...you can log turbine PIC in your 152 as well when you are soloing as long as you think about jets. That will get you to 1000 hours even quicker! Everyone does it, I cant believe they didnt teach you that at Riddle!

Ok, let me explain something to you.

Are you checked out as PIC in the airplane? If no, then NO, you can't log PIC time. I'm speaking 121 here since that's where you posted this.

I can't believe that anyone is logging PIC time where the actual PIC is in the crapper and the FO thinks he can log PIC time at that point!!!

You'll get a big wake-up call (and so will your buddy) if that's what you're doing.

LOL I guess so is about every other person I know then. Look it's simple buddy. We're flying alone. If my friend isnt checked out in the airplane then what does that SIC mean???!! It means he's dual qualified for controls. my friend even said one time he was kidding with the flight attendant and said something like, if I'm now the PIC I guess that makes you the SIC! Where's your logbook so you can log it! LOL!!! he just wrote the details on a paper for her so when she buys her logbook like she said she would she can log it correctly. look, flight time is flight time and the FAA cannot even debate that. who is flying if its not PIC? no one?! LOL

I was wondering what are some ways to get some turbine PIC as an FO. Obviously when the CA goes to the bathroom to make #2 you can get a lot, but sometimes there are other ways like if you need to keep the eng. running to hot fueling and the CA leaves the 'pit. What are some other ways thou? A friend is up to 22.7 hours of turbine PIC and he is still a 2 year FO, I want to get some someday. At this rate he wont have to upgrade he can just take that PIC to another airlines thats not a regional.
hahaha... i cant stop laughing, im crying!

Um, hello, I'm the only one IN COMMAND! I wish guys like you who interviewed and thought they knew all the rules would lite up and take a chill pill. Its all in my friends logbook and he'll get to be at a major a lot faster than most regional FOs who dont log it!

Your "friend" sir, is a tool. You can't log 121 PIC unless, as others have stated, if you sign the can(the airplane flight log)...ie....the one responsible for the flight.

It doesn't matter if it is in "his" logbook, or if "he" says it is right, or if "he" thinks this will allow "him" to bypass the rest of us. "He" is full of donkey dung.

It is wrong. It is illegal.

Oh, and by the way, just like others said...."He" really thinks that an interviewer at a major won't pick up on this.....

Hmmm, lets see looking through your logbook...... 1.4 SIC, 1.2 SIC, .3 PIC, 1.3 SIC, - Huhhh....WTF????

Hey, lets see your license.....WTF??? There's no type rating.....Hmmmm.....See Ya!

There is a thing called PRIA....if the interviewer doesn't pick up this crap from the logbook or licenses (which they will), the records will show that "he" is not typed and has been logging time illegally and "he" will be shown the door very, very quickly.

Yeahh.....And I've got 3000 hours PIC on MS FlightSim in a 747......I guess I am going to Paris this week.......

Gd help us all if there are tools out there that actually think like this. Gd help us all if there are tools that believe tools like this.

OK guys and girls, I think he got us!! This has to be flamebait or a joke. No one could be that stupid (could they?).

may not be fake

I have actually had newbee pilots speak like this guy.

Read your regs. If an aircraft requires a type you must actually be typed to be a PIC. SIC does not cut it.

Also, if you look at the applications at most airlines they will have an asterik and it will state "PIC time only if you signed for the aircraft". So even if the FAA liked this rediculous FO logic the company your are applying to is stopping you with their requirement of PIC.

Oh and I agree HAHAHAHAHAHA f ing hilarious.

When the Capt goes to the bathroom on any aircraft that im jump seating on, I log it as PIC. Im the next cloest to the Capt seat so that must make me pilot in command. Im up to 16.3 hours in a 777 and never even had to land it. I log actual too when I use the lav. because I have no outside visual references.
