guys,

just stop replying to these losers who just seem to want to get a rise out of us. It's not worth getting upset about. We all have better things to do. I know I do.

I need to get back to the studying for my jet upgrade!!

(no bull---t!)

Id have to agree with you there. I think nearly every concievable subject on this matter has been talked about on this board at some point or another. This horse has been beaten to death so many times. As far as the MAPD people go they were some of the sharpest people in class. They already had to go through the systems, oral, sim/PC and pass it all to standards before they could get an interview then they have to go through it all again. Its just one of many ways to get to an airline. How bout finding something else to talk about? Theres plenty of other political matters to debate out there. Remember United once actually went into FBOs recruiting people who may not have even had a multi-engine rating yet and the ink hadnt even dried yet on their commercial cert.

Three points:

One: Mesa pilots bought scope. Plain and simple. This will set them up for an easier time during the next round of contract talks. If they had not conceeded to buy scope then jobs would have easily moved to other entities within MAG and you would be wailing worse against them.

Two: My father was an Eastern pilot hired in 1966 with 194 total. Of this time none was IFR nor multi-engine. His first commercial checkride was on the 707-720 where he recieved his Commercial Multi-engine IFR Turbo-jet...all on one ride.

Three: I have had the opportunity to be with Mesa crews during overnights and they rocked! We had some fun and drank beer like it was going out of style...lots of fun.

Coming onto a public website to grumble about something you cannot directly affect is time waisted. Mesa pilots are well aware of the fact their contract is subpar. Beating them up about it here will do nothing. Instead I offer a better approach:

The next time you run into a Mesa crew why don't you buy them a beer and tell them that as an ALPA pilot you will proudly support them during their next round of talks. In doing this you can directly affect the attitudes of the Mesa pilots. Even if you never come across a Mesa crew, maybe you could offer support here?

Instead of using your hand to beat them down, why don't you offer it to help them up?

My $.02

Excellent post Cappy, I mean the horse has been beaten over and over again to multiple slow, brutal deaths. Let it go.......

Hey its called the regionals for a reason. Were not flying 777. We are flying RJ'S. And just because MESA is off a couple of dollars here and there and hour. Your going to talk all of this **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**. MESA AND CHQ. are the hated regionals. Were on our own. No wholly owned BS. Were expanding, and your not. So F- off.

They started it!!

Sorry, I don't believe the names of these individuals should be made public without their permission.

Yeager1,

In the 4 or so years I've been around this website thats gotta be the worst, most immature statement I've ever read on here. You really don't get it do you? I hope your just kidding.

I'm more upset by the way Mesa handles their passengers than the "race to the bottom" stuff posted on these boards. After flying with them I was stuck on the ramp looking at my hotel for 40 minutes waiting for a slot to de-plane in Vegas.

Then on my return trip, we were supposed to take off at 1am, and were told at 12:45 that the plane would be "a little late" arriving at the gate. It wasn't even at the gate yet! The reason was the captain never showed up! Another guy got flown in last minute from PHX to take over. We took off 50 minutes late.

My problem was that no one I talked to seemed to care. It was 1am and a full plane, and they were fully aware that it would be more than "a little while". Why not just let us know that it'll be 45 minutes so we can tell our rides to pick us up that much later? They screwed a lot of people and didn't care at all. That's the problem with Mesa.

Labbats,

Are you aware that Mesa doesn't operate the ramp or gates at LAS? It is all run by America West, blame them, their computer system, etc. I know first hand the shortcomings of the internal structure at Mesa but this time they weren't to blame. For those wishing to complain about Mesa ops on the east coast, don't. All ramps and gates east of the Mississippi are run by AirWiskey, United, PSA, Piedmont, Allegheny and Usair.

I don't hold a grudge over any Mesa pilot, I hold it all on JO and those Freedom pilots. I carry a list of Freedom Pilots and reference it whenever I see a Mesa ID badge. All of the Mesa pilots that see me reference the list appreciate it.

Freedom guys and gals, take note, whenever you try to jump on my airplane you will not be welcome. Mesa, AirMidwest, and CC Air, you are all welcome to sit in first class.

Interesting list...

anyone know if that David Opwanya guy is the seriously strange fellow from ERAU DAB? (a few years back)

I'm pretty clueless as to the inner working of regionals, but it was a Mesa captain who didn't show up, and Mesa people at the gate that treated me like a burden. I'll pony up the extra 10% to my cost next time and fly with someone else. My time is worth something, to me at least.

At least I am an admitted beer drinker. But not the cheap stuff.

Good thing those 300hr wannabes have a CA with them - they'd kill themselves in about three seconds flying boxes in the UP.

Gear-jerkers.

And no crap about having to pass all the same tests, blah, blah.

We ALL KNOW that whoever the company wants to pass will pass.

Standars are HIGHLY flexible in this biz, and only a fool will pretend otherwise.
