I talked to a guy who went to Skybus (it was a move up from the crap hole he was at) and he told me at least 8 NJA guys who were ex Indy signed on for Skybus CA slots. I guess some guys just can't get the airlines out of the system.
It will be interesting to see if any of those guys feel differently about airline flying after a year or so of working for Skybus. Working for an airline that bills itself as the "ultra low fare" carrier doesn't sound particularly inviting to me.
So he quit the job because one union rep he met, out of a company of over 2600 unionized pilots, was abrasive? I'm sorry, but there has to be more to the story than that.
I guess you completely underestimate my ability to piss folks off.![]()
Unless they went to UPS,FEDEX or SW...They are not to bright...Some people just want to say they fly big airplanes. But you can't take a picture of your big airplane to the bank for a home loan or I bet the cable company won't take a picture as payment either..Just a thought...
I'll say it again.....give me a charter/fractional pilot any day over many of the regional guys I have flown with.
Do82- Just curious, was it the passenger service, attitudes or basic airmanship the regional guys were lacking? I think a charter/ frac guy is probably the best all around pilot flying today.
Cheers-
The flying was fine, but it was the attention to pax details that generally needs work. I'm not saying that the regional guys can't do it but it just that they need to learn it whereas the charter guys have been doing that already.
Thanks Diesel----- but the term REGIONAL wasn't even invented when I was flying to the COMMUTTERS.

The term REGIONAL was not around back then, but at that time, lets recap some other familair terms/phrases that were around: Graveyard/boneyard (MHT), Chapter 11, Bounced checks, You cant stay at this hotel cuz you havent paid your bill, You cant buy fuel HERE, reposession, Tommy Boy, and my favorite little acronym which popped up all over the place....BOHICA.
OK, on with the subject.......
Sounds just like B...E...X...
..the good'ol days. Sigh.
How about the time I had all my revenue flights cx'd and was told to fly to MHT. When I got there all the seats were removed and we were told to fly to Nashville so we could pick up spare parts for a B-25 Mitchell and fly them to BGR.
It's hard to believe the FAA still lets that scumbag operate under 135.
