Hahahahaha... actually, that's what I liked about you when I met you. In fact, I believe you specifically mentioned what pleasure it gives you! Must be something about ex-1900 pilots, eh? :D
 
Unless they went to UPS,FEDEX or SW...They are not to bright...Some people just want to say they fly big airplanes. But you can't take a picture of your big airplane to the bank for a home loan or I bet the cable company won't take a picture as payment either..Just a thought...

The sweeping generalization in this post of yours is the one that lacks brightness not to mention that it is quite arrogant. . Who are you to declare the only 3 flying gigs that are worthy of leaving NJ? There are many more companies that are worth leaving NJ....the main point being; to each their own. Fractional flying is a completely different world than say, an ACMI. The companies you listed are not the only ones that would prove more lucrative. Besides, professional flying isn't simply about pay. QOL, lifestyle, type of flying etc. are all significant. If someone wants to take a pay cut to go to another company, so be it. If someone is happy, they have all the justification they need and are just as bright as anyone that might stay at NJ.
 
An ex Indy/ACA Feb 06 hire here. It is true that several of my former airline colleagues flew the coup simply because they were institutionalized airline people. You know, you can take the girl from Texas, but never take the Texas out of the girl. Yes lifted skirt nookieness of Heavy Iron was a contributing factor. IMHO, i think several were betting that the domicile structure would change last year.

We at Indy received the death penalty & I witnessed first hand something that I hope to never live through again. I have really begun to embrace NetJets, its culture and the variety of flying that is performed here. I also had planned for a 4yr date of hire upgrade which so far seems to be holding to form. During recurrent, Mr S emphasized the company's desire to grow the European side of the business, which would mean fewer deliveries for NJA over the period. However I still see 200+ deliveries over 5 yrs on our side. As luck would have it, one of the 5 domiciles is my hometown, so I was able to return home from my years in suburban DC. I feel that there is tremendous earning potential yet to be realized at NetJets. Yes, 7 day tours can get long in the tooth, but the amount of uninterrupted days off & vacation policy is another huge benefit to this place. For me, it’s a no brainer to hang my hat and forge a career here. Any urge to fly the whale can be dampened via the miracle of an Intel processor and the greatness of PMDG744.
 
I understand what you're saying but can only say that NJA would benefit more from those pilots coming from Avantair and FLOPs then those from the regionals. I wish we would do more to get these guys here.

Some of the regional guys I have flown with were great. A few have been absolutely terrible!!!!!!!! Almost resentful that they had to come to a fractional instead of fullfilling their dream of flying a 777 for United.

I'll say it again.....give me a charter/fractional pilot any day over many of the regional guys I have flown with.
 
Do82- Just curious, was it the passenger service, attitudes or basic airmanship the regional guys were lacking? I think a charter/ frac guy is probably the best all around pilot flying today.

The flying was fine, but it was the attention to pax details that generally needs work. I'm not saying that the regional guys can't do it but it just that they need to learn it whereas the charter guys have been doing that already.

The term REGIONAL was not around back then, but at that time, lets recap some other familair terms/phrases that were around: Graveyard/boneyard (MHT), Chapter 11, Bounced checks, You cant stay at this hotel cuz you havent paid your bill, You cant buy fuel HERE, reposession, Tommy Boy, and my favorite little acronym which popped up all over the place....BOHICA.

OK, on with the subject.......

Yah, those were the days my friend! I just loved when the only place that we cold get fuel was in BOS.......no where else. That and the memo that came out for brakes...."ahhhh, hey guys, can yah take it easy on the brakes seeing as though we dont have anymore?" Yup, sure thing.....landed that metro as short as we could..regardless if it was a 12K' runway.
 
How about the time I had all my revenue flights cx'd and was told to fly to MHT. When I got there all the seats were removed and we were told to fly to Nashville so we could pick up spare parts for a B-25 Mitchell and fly them to BGR.

It's hard to believe the FAA still lets that scumbag operate under 135.

And let us not forget his scumbag sons. Adopted or not.........they learned to be crooked from the best of the best! Shame on them!!! But did you at least etch in BOHICA all over those B-25 parts or at least on the DO-82 itself??? I always enjoyed that one fine morning in BOS........tall skinny, long blond haired DO-82 cptn just let the man have it! We were all so pleased with that dudes performance and the blasting he gave the man and his crooked lawyer!!!

Not trying to hijack the thread, but speaking of newhires, regional guys, and commuting I've got a question. I'm an ERJ captain seriously thinking of coming to NJA (waiting for an interview). I live in Boston and until this HBA comes back I'd be making the drive to TEB. Has anyone done this drive? Also, do they teach any of the customer service expectations during indoc? Someone mentioned that regional guys have had some trouble adjusting to this. I can see how that might be an issue. So is it on the job training, or do they give some things to think about in training? One more thing, I read somewhere else about not being able to land with pax on board during OE... How long does it usually take to get signed off? Sorry for all the Q's, just trying to get some more info before I head to CMH to interview. Thanks!

Red wine isn't.

Oh and I do the drive to south of teb about 2 or 3 times a week from bos lately for something outside of work.

Its a pretty easy drive. Especially with 91k
