Kinda feels like the state of Wisconsin is engaged in a conspiracy to flood the rest of the nation with inferior beer while keeping all the good stuff for themselves.;) [/B]

Hey floatflyer don't forget Capital (Madison), Point (Stevens Point), and any of the brews from New Glarus, I especially recommend the UffDa Bock.

And don't forget Sprecher's out of Milwaukee. The Black Bavarian and Mai Bock are the best!

Anybody ever heard of "Moose Drool" beer? I saw a flight attendant give one of our captains a six-pack of it as a gift...never heard of it.

What city does St. Pauli Girl come from? I prowled Germany from one end to the other for nine years and never saw it there once.

lithstrip and skyking1976,

Thanks for the tips. Next time I'm around the way I'll be sure to try 'em.

in Canada:

I have to admit Molson Dry is not too bad, although not up to my normally high standards:) It goes down easy, though, and hey it's like 5.6%

Try:

Yukon Gold
Okanagan Springs (any of their ales)
The former are Western Canada only, I believe.
Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale is widely available and is okay in a pinch.

I'm a bit picky, but it's amazing how many good beers there are around these days.

Where to start...?

My thoughts, anyway:

Murphy's Irish Stout (better than Guinness, in my opinion)
Green King Bitter (the best bitter in England)
Yuengling
Tecate w/ lime (for the beach, or w/ Mexican food)
Most any genuine German Kristalweizen w/ lemon
Genesee Cream Ale (the beer on which I was weaned; a sentimental choice)

Just scratches the surface...
