As once stated before "Anything with 'Light', 'Lite', or any similar wording in the name is unaccpetable!"
The perfect beer is all about the mood. I never buy the same six pack on consecutive trips to the store.
The top of the list has to start with stouts. Guinness and Bemish (sp?) go at the top of that list. The stouter the better. Oatmeal stouts, expresso stouts and cream stouts are all very good choices.
Then I have to start moving down to other darker, flavorful brews. I have heard many people mention Fat Tire. I have to say that Fat Tire is the most overratted beer that I have ever tried. Almost every other beer made by New Belgium is ten times better then Fat Tire. And if you want another great Colorado brew try 90 Shilling made by Odell (they also have a good wheat brew). It makes Fat Tire tast like Natural Light (now Notural Ice on the other hand is not a bad beer, but I will talk an that later). A very great flavorful beer is Newcastle Brown. The only time is did not enjoy one was out of a can as served by Frontier. Cans just tast like crap.
Now I will start on lighter hot day brews. I am upset that no one has mentioned the best hot day beer. RED STRIPE! This is an excellent Jamacian beer served in short stubby bottles with almost no neck. From there I have to mention Sol and Pacifico. Both are great Mexican cerveza's.
From here I will just have to make honorable mentions to a few American mass produced beers. The King Of Beers is a good everyday drink. I also enjoy a good Michelob every once in a while. Their other brews (Black & Tan, Honey lager, Amber Bock, etc) can also put a smile on my face.
I guess I will just run down a list of other great brewery's. Someone mentioned Moose Drool by Big Sky Brewery. They have a few strang named beers like Scape Goat pale, and Slow Elk Oatmeal Stout. Both are good drinks as well. One of my all-time fav's Sierra Navada. Great group of brews. I love all of the Red Hook Family especilly the Black Hook and the ESB. Rogue Brewery has a great selection as well. Leinenkugel make a good choice as well. Has anyone out there heard of the "Leine Birdy"? I will make another mention to Boulevard out of KC. Another Colorado great is the Flying Dog Brewery. They have one Called Bad Dog that just won a 5 year "obscenity" suit because the lable says "GOOD BEER, NO **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**" on it. And I will make another honorable mention for Grolsch.
If you are ever in the eastern Nebraska you need to try beers made by Spilker Ale's. They have some of the tastyist brew I have ever had. Speaking of good beer I can't leave without mentioning Little Kings Cream Ale. Light and creamy and gives good head, just like my last girlfriend.
Well lastly I have to talk a bit about ICE brews. Ice beers are always good to have if you want a crazy night. I mentioned Natural Ice earlier because it is completely different form Natural Light. A very good I brew is the old Bud Ice. I have one thing to say "Beware of the penguins!"
But to finnish it all off, I had a friend that said it perfectly. "There is only two types of beer... Free and Cold!"
Peace out!!!
