Here's to you Mr. Mesaba Pilot Yes Voter Guy!

Your inept greed, and cowardly act has helped further lower the profession of the pilot.

All in the name of "This will help me get to be a Captain sooner, and get out of here!" That is no different than the Ho-Jets, Mesa, Skywest, and all of the other bottom feeders mentality.

There are no guarenteed additional aircraft coming. Even if you receive replacements for the Avro's you will still be lower than you were.

In the tradition of FlightInfo (but reversed),.... "You are no longer welcome in my jumpseat."

Question...what is your 2% dues getting you anyways?

Nothing I say.

You are awarded no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Isn't it sad how quickly one pilot group can go from one of the most supported in their times of struggle to one of the most hated literally overnight. More thought should be given to the fact that Mesaba pilots were perhaps thinking more of their current jobs and families rather than the rest of us. We can all say - especially on this and any other forum - that we would rather give up our jobs than take drastic cuts just to keep said job. However, the act of following through such rhetoric is much easier said than done. Our anger and frustration should be focused on those who are really to blame - the poor managers that created a company that needed these cuts to "stay alive." Every one with common sense should know that Mesaba pilots would never have signed that TA if it wasn't the last option. I hope it works out as you go forward. I, for one, will be on your side until the end. Good luck.

Now I remember why I got out of this industry...

Not because of the bad schedules...I worked for a "bottom feeder", and I definitely worked less than I do now...

Not because of the short overnights...I knew those were coming...

Because of the attitude of a lot of the jerks I flew with...similar to the first post...what a downer. No, I didn't like the way the industry was/is headed, but the guys and gals at Mesaba have every right to approve that TA. They probably didn't want to approve it, but keeping the bills paid and supporting the family come first. I hear some of these people saying they walk off the flight deck and into an office for a job that pay 3 times as they were making flying. Sure it may happen for some, but you're in la la land if you think 571 pilots at Mesaba are going to be able to do the same thing. Sometimes job searches take months.

What happened to STFD?

I figured it had a chance since surely no one can provide for their family with a Mesaba pay cut wage and topping out as a Saab captain.

The greed of pilots wanting to flying airplanes over making a descent living almost anywhere else with that inteligence level plays into managements hands yet again.

Shameful.

It's OK for those of you on the outside to be upset and angry. It is, after all, a free country. But it is simply idiotic to accuse any Mesaba employees of being "greedy". Grow some brain cells, people.

I continue to be amazed at the people that say that the mesaba pilots should do this or do that, but in reality where are you when it comes for support? Most of the time I read how happy one pilot group is happy to take flying away from another pilot group. This industry is not banded together, and until it is it is not going to do any good for 1 small pilot group to give up their jobs, put their families second just to make a point while you are flying their old routes.

lets just see......try and take that jump seat away from me when i am going home......i dare you.....i may only be a mesaba FO, but i think as you fly off your own plane...or get bridge, you will lose your medical.......and a few kicks for your kind words. MR TNT

looks for me, my name starts with a 'J" and ends in john. by the way......hope to see you when i commute to memphis.....even more so on the way home to MSP

Napolean smallfeet

What company do you work for? I am not at Mesaba and I would never let you in my jumpseat with that comment. Do you even have all the facts? I love ignorant people who say things on this website with 16 year old brains. You are an idiot and nobody wants your jumpseat. You will never sit in mine...

I think we should wonder why 68% voted for it. Maybe there is something more to it. I heard a 14 Million dollar bankruptcy claim.

XJ pilots aren't greedy, they're spineless. Big talk and no action. ALPA at it's best. You reap what you sow folks. Everyone complained when NWA passed their TA by a 68%+ margin, now look in the mirror.

Now taking bets on when it's announced that XJ is getting the CRJ-900's and 9E is losing more.

accept it folks we are nothing but glorified bus drivers, this industry is full of losers, uneducated nobody's, and an the end life is still a ******************** sandwich in this industry.

I don't blame the mesaba guys one bit for voting this in, I wish we would just vote in our pinnacle contract and get it over with so we can all move on. I came to pinnacle to fly my a$$ off and to get to where i really want to go, a major. I did not come here to STFD or what ever the heck you bitter guys say. Half of the people at pinnacle that will vote on our contract will not even be here in 1 year, so I don't understand why everyone gets so pissed off. There is nothing we can do to change what management is going to do. They are going to get what they need to make money. XJ is a perfect example. How long has this been going on to get the same results? Or we could be like comair and get the best contract ever, look where they are now, falling back to the rest of us. The current proposal on the table for pinnacle might not be the best, but it gives fo's a raise, and with current attrition and with the majors hiring, it wont even matter to over half the pilot group in 3 years. Would you rather spend that 3 years doing what ASA is doing right now? I don't. I say good job to the XJ Guys who were voting yes because they just want to move on and get to where they need to go. Now its our turn for our union to "not give one cent" and then do it anyway in the end.

From your comments,

Let me guess you are, 21, or 22 years old. single and mom and dad paid your way through everything? Am i right? Its not a matter of moving on and screw everyone else in your way. Seriously your attitude is part of the problem!!

Your whole theory works fine if the regionals stick to flying turboprops or limited routes with maybe 50 seaters like it was when first started in this industry. Problem now is "regionals" are flying major airline routes with major airline size airplanes so this crap about not caring so you can just move on is BS and will bite you in the end as your "major" job gets farmed out to the next round of kids who think like you at this point in your life. The chain and downward slide needs to end at some point. Can't blame Mesaba pilots, they put up a long hard fight over the years. That's all I ask of any pilot group; not your cut and run ideology.
