Kind of makes you want to go out and do some diamond mining...

Someone always posts that quiz and everytime it is lacking one very big thing.

Until 9/11 the largest act of terrorism against the US was committed by a WHITE male who served in the military.

You can profile all you want (and I agree some degree is warranted), but you still cannot rule out everyone else.

Peace!

That's not correct. Prior to 9/11 the worst act of terrorism was the bombing of Pan Am 103, comitted by Islamo-fascists.

Hey FN FAL,

If you want to go stick your hand or other tool up some guy's butt that’s fine but stay away from mine. What you republicans do in your own time is fine, but you don't need to share it with the rest of us.

This was a joke. But was just too easy an opportunity.

And the Beirut Marine barracks too

If I was pulled over because some other short white guy was breaking into houses in my neighborhood and I fit the description, I would understand. If my being questioned put the people around me at ease, that would be ok.

That's not profiling, it's questioning people who fit a description. The fact is terrorists are right now active in the US, and are likely planning something, and vigilance is warranted. Wanding the bare feet of little old ladies is not gonna find legitimate suspects. Scrutiny of possible suspects based on the demographics of those who have attacked us in the past will.

Eeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww! :(

Minh

(Butt then again ... it depends on whose mine it is, doesn't it? :D )

All this is very interesting. A group of middle eastern people became the focus of a story by a female reporter. She has made a name for herself.

Are terrorist people planning to do something, probably in October, to influence the next election? As they did in Spain? Probably. Does anyone of us know? Probably not.

If a bunch of people are standing around on a flight, and they are middle eastern men, 17-40, why wouldn't someone say, HEY SIT DOWN!! Probably because we try to hard to be politically correct.

Profiling is a bad thing. Being not politically correct is a bad thing. Getting people killed because you are afraid of afronting someone is a worse thing. Remember the guy who had bombs in his shoes? People, STAND UP!!

Here is a followup on the story by the original author:

I've seen a number of articles confirming the basic facts. It's not an internet rumor.
The facts being: A plane flew from Detroit to L.A. It had 14 middle-eastern men on it who knew each other. They congretated at various times during the flight and raised suspicion among other passengers and crew. The authorities met them in L.A., checked out their credentials and let them go about their business.

Where I work, we had a middle-eastern man seated in coach muttering to himself, looking at his watch often, rummaging through his brief case and acting nervous. The crew kicked him off the plane. The airline was then sued because he happened to be the keynote speaker at a conference that we just insured that he would miss. He was nervous about delivering the speech.

Maybe these "musicians" were really musicians. They were talking about where they were going to stay, what songs they were going to play, who made the ground transportation arrangements, why all these people keep staring at us (What are you looking at? No, what are YOU looking at?), etc.

I didn't realize you had an account here Mr. Kerry. ;)

Or maybe they weren't musicians? I don't know of any musicians that gather around both foward and aft labs 6 at a time to discuss the song lists. Were they acting suspicious. OF COURSE!!!!!! I try to prevent accidents not figure out what I should have done after the fact.
