Lawsuits, lawsuits, lawsuits. Why would a name on a poolie list keep you from being hired some where else? Obviously your good at what you do AND qualified, you interview well, and an airline has you in it's pool. I personally will wait for my class date, and don't need or want to interview elsewhere. However, all you doomsday people who want to harm Southwest and it's poolies my question to you is why? Why do some of you seem to relish in trying to bring others down and TRY and make other people miserable. I'm lucky, I like my current job, it's not my goal, but it's good. For those in the pool that arent happy, I don't believe you will have any problems interviewing else where if you want too. This talk of a poolie black list is pathetic. I hope to see all the poolies on line at Southwest soon, and get a good laugh at these people trying to raise our blood pressure! Keep swimming!

btw. Remember, when your hired, we have input about the interviewees, and I must say, there are a few characters on here that....might not belong if Southwest is THEIR goal. Of course, we might be the last pool for a while.

I guess they won't be interviewing for years now too. Bummer for me, but from what I hear Southwest is going town hill pretty fast, and now with this, I don't think I would want to work there jerking 737 gear for 15 years. I land better from the left seat

look slappy, if you want a legitimate thread, you're in the wrong place. this place has been overrun by General Lee/737_Pylt/Jmoney/etc. plus, tanker clown is an absolute a$$clown.

Furthermore, SWA pilots are about to get absolutely bent over with the new contract negotiations. Do their pilots really think they're going to continue on this payscale? with basically zero growth? That is why I'll probably end up an NWA. SWA pilots should prepare to get back where they were...the @ss end of the industry. finito, done, finished.. Via con Dios.

I'm sure you poolies have heard, but the 60+ crowd already has begun re-applying to SWA. Any word from the PD on how that is going to be handled? I hope you guys don't lose your pool standing, because you guys have remained steadfast on this board. Happy New year folks, and hope to see you sooner rather than later...

From what I have heard, there are 14 apps on file from retired CA's. I have heard no official information about what will be done with them.

We had the manager of hiring on the J/S recently. As of a couple of weeks ago, he said we were still looking at placing around 150ish from the pool in class this year. He said if we interview in '08 it won't be until late summer or fall at the earliest.

I don't think that they can come in at their seniority when they left, but they can come back as new hires. That said, they can probably jump to the front of the line of the pool. Just because you are in the pool doesn't mean that SWA owes you anything. You don't have an employee number. While SWA has had a method to bringing on the newhires, they still don't have to honor it.

It may not seem fair, but that's life.

I wonder if these old guys will have to do a year of probation again?

Pros to hiring the guys back would be training costs would certainly be low. Cons would be wondering how a former captain would accept starting over as a junior FO. I guess if they'd give a 50 year old from US Air a shot (and they did for a few) they might give a 60 year old from their own place a shot.

Again--before anyone gets out the torches and pitchforks...I got no dog in this fight and have no idea how it will play out. It is, however, a very interesting development...

Not sure what to think...

Just spoke to PD TODAY and they said that after the 9 Jan class, they are 'counting' on 1 class in Feb, then 'hopefully' 1 class in Mar. They also told me something different that they never have in the past: whereas I was always referred to as being #50 in the pool, they did say to me today that "numbers are adjusting", so they just want me to know and understand that as of now I am in class #3. No more referencing me to a number like they have until now. THOUGHTS? ? ? I wonder what the longest time someone was in a hiring pool. . . keep this thread going, guys!
