Wow that could be 48 more in May. Anyone at SWA able to shed light on why the need for so many? Could some of the delivery a/c be coming for summer?
Great news for poolies, good luck!

I would say about 5-ish classes away after the April folks start up for a mid-july poolie.

A friend in the know says that the sims wil be pretty much booked up from August throught the end of the year for training. This has to do w/ training all pilots at the company.

I did some checking and there are roughly 45 poolies between myself and the last guys to get into the April 23rd class.
So looking at the unofficial pool kept on here, that's about a factor of 1.3 between where I am at on the actual pool list and the list here.
So just take your number on this list, times 1.3 and that is a pretty good estimate of your number in the actual pool.
Sounds like about 10 so far have defered/declined so if anything my numbers are extra conservative.
So if they run two classes in May, I think I would make the second one with a pool date of 6/17/07
Just to clarify, you mean all current pilots at the company and not anyone in the pool correct?

Talked to PD today. May classes are scheduled for the 14th and the 28th.
24 in each class.
Historically speaking SWA has always charged ahead in rough times. Anyone smarter than myself care to shed light on if SWA plans to capitalize on Skybus going out of business, all legacy carriers reducing domestic capacity, and possibly going after Virgin Amer.? and what that would mean for class dates and draining the pool?
WOW!!
