I hear that they are paying second year pay for new hires if they fly the jets with cracks in them.
Relax guys, it's just a joke.

It has been more than six months since the Aug 07 decison board. Have you guys heard of anyone dropping out of the pool b/c of failing to get a type rating?
I wonder how Higher Power is doing these days.

Where's 406 coming from and why all the smack talk? Did a SWA jet run over his dog or something?I'd say blah blah blah blah. Either way...
I'd say after many of you suckers paid them 8 grand each for a type rating...they're probably doing more than OK, and enjoying your money on the beach.
Or maybe it's Mommy and Daddy's money. Either way...
Not yet.....Diane & Ronna said that we should get the 'offical' phone call this week---they just have to talk to all the deferred folks to see when they can make it so they can get an accurate count on each class then they'll place all the poolies accordingly and finally call us!!!!!! I'll post as soon as I hear from them.Where's 406 coming from and why all the smack talk? Did a SWA jet run over his dog or something?
I can't tell much about him/her from all those super witty, knee slapping answers on his profile.
Hey 10...any news from the PD today?
Actually the VA paid for 60% of mine, so I will thank you the American taxpayer. This sucker only paid $2800 for his. One application, one interview and one job. Without a doubt it was worth it.
I didn't go to Higher Power. I couldn't believe how many people actually went there because they thought it gave them an "In" with SWA.

For all of you guys waiting to start class it is well worth the wait. I hope you get the phone call for class soon.
With the VA benefits (not a loan) at 60%, the cost for the Type at HPA comes out to approx $2940. Not a big diff in $$.
If pilots are willing to attend job fairs to get 'face time' with a recruiter or chat up an HR person, that same function can be had at HPA, with fourteen pilots versus several hundred. Better odds to 'make the connection'? You decide. Do SWA Pilot Recruitment personnel come and visit each class? Every week. Does HPA host SWA Open Houses? Yes. And provide Type Training as a door prize? I saw it happen.
Any Type school will get you what you need. Go where you want to, get out of it what you need. I was a post-interview 'prehire'. Squadron WN pilots recommended HPA for the training, environment, and the proximity--driving distance of four hours. I was happy with my choice. YMMV.
Good luck to all the shallow-end poolies awaiting the short call! Those of us a little deeper in are happy to see you get up on the pool deck. Now stop snapping those towels at each other and dry off.
HPA should pay you for that ad.![]()
