My friend. You accept no pay raise now for the 800 and the company will know that we bend over backwards and are a bunch if push overs. The 800 has the potential for 30% more revenue and you want none of it. That to me is nonsense.

You are right. I agree that the CSA's, rampers, res agents, cleaners, wheel chair pushers, Oh ya and the Lav dumpers also deserve a nice slice of that "revenue" pie. After all they will have 3 lavs to dump instead of 2, more bags, pax to check in, trash to pick up.....

Oh wait a minute this only applies to us, right? After all it is us that makes this thing work. "Their" job is only worth so much, right? It is only US that is "reasonable" for all that extra revenue.

Bus

same pay for any 737 and a long blistful career at SWA is what I wish for as a 4th yr fo... good luck to us all in aviation I have 30 more years and just pray I keep that career healthy and at the same airline

Bus,

The CSA's rampers, res agents, cleaners, wheel chair pushers and lav dumpers all get a raise the second the first 800, shows up ... because the airplane will require more positions.

But not for pilots. 4 800s can replace 5 300s. We better get $$$ because lord knows any fleet guarantee won't be worth the paper it is written on.

We are our own worst enemy.

Hellz Bellz!!!, I was starting to worry with all the Kool-Aid and refugees from failed airlines comments I've read. Thank Gawd somebody at SWA gets it!

A healthy raise from a healthy company for flying more seats. That is the easy part. The hard part is getting the company to agree to not down size the fleet which equals no growth no upgrade and you guest it 20 year fo's with the potential to have guys on the street.

Don't forget we are in no hurry. Lets see what raise we get after this month is over. Then we can build the 800 raise on top of our current raise. You only get what you bargain for and that is why you pay your SWAPA dues each month with your hard earned money.

Get a raise, or just have additions to the work force? Big difference.

I couldn't agree more. More money would be nice, but it would be meaningless if it required more years of zero growth on the seniority list. There are several of us commuting cross country to Oakland from East coast bases for the past 2 1/2 years who would love to have these commutes come to an end when growth resumes and we get the current poolies on the property. I sure don't want this commute to end due to the fact that the fleet could potentially shrink, only to find that we are overstaffed.
