Call me crazy, but...

I don't know about SKYW...but take a good hard look at ExpressJet's branded operation and compare some of those destinations to a WN routemap. Tack on the fact that XJT is a union house (as some say will be required for a codeshare), has the personnel in the right cities to flip the switch on such an operation overnight, and the fact that it would be a nice way to slap the face of another Texas based airline that spurned them...and I see a possible codeshare partner.

But, maybe that's just the overthinking 'spatcher in me talking.

I dont believe it either way but things that make you go hmmm... XJT has options for 100 nex XR's. Its like anything in this industry dont believe it till you see it.

I hope to god this is not true, it would be a huge nail in the coffin of this industry.

go jet is a "union house..." doesn't make a difference.

ya'll won't be able to "unring that bell if this goes thru....

I think Gary Kelly is smart enough not to do something that would make us look that much more like a legacy, with legacy-like labor relations.

Once again, I'm told this rumor has merit. Sources inside Skywest are saying that a deal is its final stages for up to 100 CRJ 1000's or this new C series aircraft...for Southwest Airlines.. To be announced in January. I hope that if this thing has any truth to it that the guys and gals over at Southwest will stop this from happening... Any flying done in Southwest colors should be done on a Southwest seniority list.. period..at any price.. the back sliding and outsourcing must stop!!

Sounds like contract scares to me....but when you think about it....everyone else has a regional feed...not just at the legacy carriers..ie: Frontier. Did not work at Airtran though.

An honest question a bit off topic. Does Express jet hold the options, or is it CAL. Who owns the current aircraft CAL or ExpressJet?

XJT has the options. But it's heavily debated if they can be used on XR's (could convert one of the Legacy lines back to XR) or now would have to be towards E-Jets.

God let's hope so. If SWA outsources that much flying of that kind of airplane it would be absolute pig vomit disgusting. Let's hope SWA management doesn't even try, and if they do let's hope the SWA pilots say "no way".

On the other hand, now that the 4 digit guys get to fly another 5 years, they probably won't mind agreeing to an RJ code share.
