Lear,

That sounds good in theory. But are you sure that is what is going on?

Maybe I misheard, but chatting with my rep in the lounge the word was that the MEC has been at every meeting with the SWAPA NC. I'll see if I can find a reference in any of the weekly updates that we get.

It's actually SWAPA's fault. The free food has attracted T.O. and the proximity to any area that contains management attracted L.H. The 'roundups' established that easy access to both resources would be in DAL. Kidding ..... kinda :)

When the actual SLI talks begin we will only see the AirTran MC and SWAPA MC participating. Hopefully.

Edit. I saw you asked Lear. Oops. Sorry.

That's pretty funny right thar... ;) LOLOL

Bill, the idea of T.O. and L.H. being in the room EVERY time the MC's have met... I don't know, that's not my understanding of what they're supposed to be doing, but I guess I need to ask if that's the case so I understand what's up with that.

We'd like to have one of our Contract Negotiating Committee members (one of the ones who negotiated our CBA) present during the Integration talks between SWAPA and SWA management just for input on restrictions in our CBA. As GK said during the Battle Plan, both contracts remain in force and it would be smart to have a contract expert of ours on hand to make sure nothing gets agreed to that would violate it. Other than that, no, I don't see any reason for us to be involved in your Integration discussions.

Ivauir, yeah, if you have reference for that, would like to know. If so, need to call one of the MC guys and ask why.

You guys are terrible. A guy is overweight and you make fun of him on a public forum? If I were him I'd tell you to @#ck off and wouldn't spend another day of my life working for those that make fun of my weight.

Would it matter if they made fun of him because he was under weight or is it just the fact that they are making fun of someone?

This board is bad enough. Please don't start arguing over a man's weight. Of course, if you are female, I understand and retract that statement.

I was referring more towards the LH comment, but hey, it's FI... everything gets misunderstood, SNAFU.

As far as T.O., he and I have been friends for almost a decade, worked together at our previous carrier, and I wrote one of his recommendation letters back in the day to AirTran, so I'm pretty sure he knows I wasn't referring to him, but if he did take it the wrong way, he'd probably pick up the phone and let me know about it, he's not shy... ;)

You're kidding right ? He's the highest paid F.O by hours on his payrate. Union members pay his salary. We feed him with $100.00 per person steak dinners. That's where the comment originates.

You'd have to drag him kicking and screaming from his office. Literally.

He is wed to ALPA. He's an adult and he can look after himself.

Is that the reason for LH and TO being in all of the M/C negotiations?

You really should check your facts a bit before spreading around misinformation. The above just isn't true.

Regarding the transition team being there, the reason for that is that ALPA doesn't combine the Negotiating Committee and Merger Committee like SWAPA does. So, there has to be negotiators present for the transition items that don't deal directly with the SLI process. Just as ALPA isn't complaining that your negotiators are involved in the SLI, you shouldn't be complaining that ours are. Our structure is just a bit different than yours. When it comes down to the SLI talks themselves, only the Merger Committee members will be there. No one else.
