AirTran's didn't... ;)

Thunbs up to your group Rich, I guess I should rephrase my response.

I don't work for Spirit, so I don't know what's important to them or what issues they have. The TA I saw just looked very unimpressive, especially for having walked the picket line. I wasn't expecting to see SWA or anything Earth shattering, but inline with Jetblue should have been expected.

Maybe in some of the other work rules make up for it, it just doesn't look that way from what I saw. I also hate the lowering of first year pay. I know everyone says you have to pay your dies, but Spirit isn't a starter airline.

In the end, you have to vote what is in your best interest, I just don't want people complaining about it in a year. Remember, this contract will almost certainly last longer then the actual listed length.

I want to know what's wrong with the ALPA democratic process that keeps giving us guys that bend over every time management threatens a shutdown/furlough. Why do reps assassinate other members characters just to get elected, positioning themselves as the strong advocates for pilots, then act like company lapdogs after they get elected.

Somewhere, there's a flaw in the process.

It is always easy to snipe from the fringe but once people get elected, and get real information, not rumors or speculation it tends to bring some reality back into the picture.

I wish they would hurry up and let us vote NO now!! This is just dragging it out longer than it has to go, I have met no one willing to vote in this TA. 90 hour lines? Reserves that get 1 day less off a month with movable periods of up to 12 hours? Crappy pay? Crappy health care! more increases in health care! More pay for those in the training department?!? Pay cut for first year pilots?!? Who does that? By the way, Spirit reported ANOTHER RECORD PROFIT OF 24 million for quarter 1 today!!! Our margins are 16% while SWA has margins of 2%!!! We want RETRO! We want industry leading pay for industry leading profits! We want an industry leading contract NOW!! Vote NO!!

That was before ALPA, and the pressure on the MEC from the national organization fretting about losing more dues money.

Your union dues are peanuts compare to what ALPA spend taking care of you........

I wish we get ALPA and the sooner the better.

My God that TA is a huge turd. Good luck. Its worse than everyone elses BK contracts from years ago. That sucks.
I heard that the Annual Economic Value (AEV) of the current POS contract you went to work under is worth about $45 million and in 4 years the AEV is close to $115 million per year.

At least you get to vote.
