MDW or BWI. These two non-hubs have too much traffic not to be the best and most likely sites. PHL is too crappy an airport with terrible delays for SWA's tastes.

No, No,No, I really think it might be Dallas, or HOU, or even PHX... Thats what I think.: ) :) :)

Ahhhh don't you miss it? And managements appreciation of your skills? About as much as I miss Bogota traffic...

Standby for phone call and Hedonism Resort tickets once I hit 50... That's about 15 years at Captain pay you'll be missing...

Whats the cost of living in LAS I'd have to figure in the cost of the Checken Ranch on that figure...

:D

still have the mini cooper? Si. Tu quieres comprarlo?

later

Le diga a mi favorito ASAC que el puede besar mi culo!

TPA....another hot, humid base with a high cost of living. Definitely will be TPA.

Not to mention that would be three bases all in hurrican alley. I hope the company isn't just running computer models to base their decision on this. Besides, TPA is a nice overnight.

Heard the company doesn't much care about the hurricane factor. Rare enough that it isn't much of a factor in decision I heard.

Thats too bad cause one bad one could put that area out of it like New Orleans. Of course, the same thing could be said about OAK. I just hate to see money spent opening a base and have it wiped out down the road. I'm biased too, I can't stand Florida.

Tampa was ruled out today. The hardest part about making Vegas work is that capacity planning is having a hard time making the pairings line up. There is too much of an overlap right now. They'll make it happen though.

With TPA ruled out....

I say -- LAS

Right behind -- STL, MCI, BNA

Third tier --PHL, DEN (Due to growth required to make sense)

In the "Galley" conference room on the 3rd floor. Anything else?

It seems like if an announcement was coming, they wouldn't still be eliminating or debating options. The good thing about SWA is that they keep their cards close until the last minute. Does that jive with the "Galley" info?:)

I see your point. The whole announcement thing is a rumor too. Two weeks ago it was planned that a big announcement was to be made. The announcement was made. It had to do with the restructuring of Vp's due to being top heavy. Even after that was made, people with a new crew base on their mind expected the announcement to be the crew base, and I guess some are still waiting. Only my 2 cents.

Will it be a 737 base?

Since SWA only flies 737s I think there is a good chance it will be a 737 base.

On a serious note the SWAPA VP on another forum said that TPA still looks to be the top choice. However SWAPA is still running the numbers among four choices and will make a recommendation to SWA next week. The SWAPA choices are TPA, LAS, BNA, and MCI.
