To be announced next week. Regional Chief Pilot in MDW Flight Ops base this morning. Wouldn't disclose where, only that the company is to announce it next week.
SWA/FO, you heard it here first.

Any guesses? I think it has to be somewhere on the East Coast since that's were all the growth is.

BNA...10000:1 (mx reductions)
MCI...5000:1 (too many long hauls now)
TPA...1000:1 (MCO too close and hurricane implications & proximity to MCO)
LAS...25:1 (commuting flight crews and loads into LAS)
PHL...3:1
DEN...even money

Taking bets Mon-Fri 1300-2359 Central

PHL-more gates, full mx and prov., delays so reserves would help. Also, its a good overnight as was MDW/BWI. Bad- is it too close to BWI

My guesses

Most Likely and too close to call--DEN or LAS

Close third--TPA (too close to MCO, but the east coast schedule could use it)

Long Shots
--SEA (with an announcement of more gates)
--BNA (With MORE maintenance, the reduction was just a ruse)
--PHL (not enough gates, too close to BWI, but east coast could use it)

SMF Maybe

Supposedly an OAK Chief Pilot said that when the bean counters run the numbers between LAS, TPA, MCI, BNA and SMF ... SMF keeps coming up at the top of the list. Hmmm.

Rumor also had it that SWAPA recommended TPA to the company.

All that being said--MY VOTE IS DENVER BABY!!

Unfortunately I think we're a year away from having enough jets or gates at DEN for that to be the city.:(

If anyone finds out the date the company is going to make the announcement please post it.
