Have u polled the RSW FOs?

We all know the answer. RSW's would rather fly with micro-managers and have upgraded via organic growth. FAT guys would've rather gone it our own, that's old news.

Hopefully, combining the RSW's f/o's and the FAT CA's and senior f/o's angst will provide for a bar-raising CBA. Trying to find a bright side in this whole mess.

BTW, I think Ty can handle the round dials. Personally, I'm not scared, the 300's can't be as bad as the '9 with the old DL PDI's and monochrome radar. But, alas, I'm not worthy to fly the 300, I'm sure there will be no shortage of "instructors".
 
Don't worry, Jacky, there will still be plenty of experienced FO's to hold your hand from BWI all the way down to AUA.

This drama is in the rear view and I could give two chets if one was Morris FAT RSW or from any other place -
I'd rather fly with people that know the job and don't make things difficult.

Sounds like there will be some CA-CA folks in Jan-June. I doubt I will be able to hold out that long, but there will be CA-CA.

My understanding is everyone gets SWA ID, go home, come back and do FO transition course and then bid CA if can hold it and there is a vacancy....

Doubt that the senior AAI CA's who will be able to transition CA-CA will be seeing a raise, they're mostly 16+ year pilots, many of whom who are in management/training roles over here.

I haven't seen anything about a DRC claim, what's the basis for it?

It's not "followed by." It's "at the same time." We get the pay rates on January 1st, and then sit around for months waiting on our class date. It's a beautiful thing, and just one more indication of SWA management incompetence. :laugh:

Be prepared for another jurisdictional arbitration first. You can't file a dispute that just seeks to ask a question. You have to actually have a violation that you're disputing.

Oh, I'll never actually go to class. But since they're going to pay us to sit around waiting for a class date, I'll be more than happy to take the money....right up until the day prior to class. :laugh:
 
The day before class is when you start burning through all your remaining sick time. No sense in leaving anything on the table. ;)

I don't know about "Something for nothing" Wave. SWA bought PCL's airline. SWA did it to enhance stockholder equity, period. They did it at the expense of the employees of both airlines, but even more so the AirTran folks. They don't owe SWA anything and certainly are justified to do anything they can to benefit themselves. SWA felt it was fine to screw up PCL's career, he should get anything he can out of them.

You could be a stapled AirTran FO for starters? They are the ones who get a vacay AND the raise. Seriously, you should be off reserve by now. Isn't that great? I thought being a line holding Capt was awesome.

Which speaks of your character.... but the reality is, SWA decided your career was inconsequential compared to their desire to increase stockholder equity, why would you owe them anything?

This just about sums up the mindset of the average American, pretty sad. Sorry Dan, but if you have kids I would hope as a person of a higher educated group you wouldn't condone this type of behavior. Go check out the movie "Idiocracy", I fear it's just where this country is headed. People everywhere go through life stealing, cheating and lying all the while justifying it on their current life situation. I truly feel sorry for my kids who have to live in a society like this, it's not their fault we brought them up honest.

Oh, believe me, I certainly don't think I owe them anything. Quite the contrary. They've earned nothing but contempt from our employees. But someone else's immoral behavior shouldn't shape your own. Just because GK behaves immorally and unethically in how he dealt with us doesn't mean that it's right to return the favor. I would never go "above and beyond" for him, but lying or not doing my job would be wrong. As long as I choose to work for him, I'll do my job and be honest in how I do it. But waveflyer's silly idea that I should leave money on the table that is rightfully mine is asinine.
