Pogue Mahone said:Have you read the SkyWest contract?
If so, you want all of it or you want to cherry pick it?
Are you aware that they have PBS?
Tell us about their reserve system?
Tell us about the effects of PBS on vacation touch trip dropping?
Tell us about the recent changes to compensation for off day trining assignments?
The reality is you probably don't know jack about the SkyWest contract and you are just flapping your gums.
BTW did you want to give up your legally binding CBA status under the RLA in exchange for the wholesale contract purchase. That way it can be changed by a stroke of Jerry or Brad's pen on a whim?
Is that what you wanted?????

There is the "contract" for those who dont know what it is. Ill gladly vote it in...
~~~^~~~ said:Atkin said SkyWest's contract was too high on the 50 seater and other areas of the contract exceeded the market we needed to compete in.
When asked about just giving us the Skywest contract Jerry said it was too much on the 50 seater.
There is absolutely no reason to believe that after he finishes with ASA, his next project with be SkyWest. He is also shopping for another carrier to add to his airline.
Yes, yes, we ALL KNOW that they don't have an actual contract. But what people are saying is that they would vote yes for a contract of our own based on the Skywest work rules that they currently have whatever you wan't to call it.
I never said it was on the table, just stating what the president of ASA told me during a conversation. They speak out both sides of their mouths.~~~^~~~ said:Just because the deal was on the table, doesn't mean it is still on the table.
SuperKooter said:If ASA would get the SKYW contract ALPA would become irrelevant that’s why we don't have it. ALPA is only looking out for their own Asses, for a group that claims to look out for pilots they seem to only look out for themselves.
COOPERVANE said:As for Pref bidding. I don't want it, and I'll bet you don't want it either. But our company has stated that after the contract has been settled, we will go to a pref bidding system, and that the pilots that they have spoken with want it also. I'm not sure who those pilots were.
atrdriver said:Wrong. Even if we got and signed SKW's work rules into a contract we would still need ALPA to administer it, deal with grivances, etc.
JoeMerchant said:You don't need ALPA to administer a contract. You could have an inhouse union. Southwest has done fine.
SuperKooter said:I've heard from more people than I can remember that the Skywest contract at ASA would be perfect and that they gladly vote for it. So why doesn't alpa try and push that on managment? (I already know why, I just want to hear what the ALPAites have to say)
