Skywest union drive should have nothing to do with integration or not integration with ASA. Leave that out...personally, you can fence ASA from your seats and bases forever! It should be about getting a seat at the bargaining table, protecting your pilot group in times of medical or legal trouble, and finally achieving a binding agreement that Jerry is held accountable to, thereby helping to continue to raise the bar for all regional pilots instead of being the group that helps hold everybody back. Your growth will not stop if you vote in ALPA! I mean, seriously, do you think JA and the board are going to say, 'ok, thats it...no more growing our business because the pilots went union'! And ASA pilots are not drooling to take your seats! There will probably never be an integration of the two groups anyway.

Its really gonna be quite simple, the previous decision from the Gheyjhet/TSA petition will be used. The judge denied the petition based upon the facts that the two carriers had different route structures, different codeshares,different bases and different aircraft types. Use the above to compare and contrast the SKYW/ASA situation? Thought so the judge in the ASA/SKYW case would simply use the previous decision as a rationale for deciding for the one carrier petition. Butt What the he!! place your hands over your ears and yell NOOOO, NOOOO, that will keep this from happening. And guess what SKYW pilots, will not have the protections of the Allegheney/Mohawk Labor protections Act, not being collectively bargained will preclude them from those protections.

They thought they were clever when they made TF the SLC Chief Pilot, guess the DD fiasco showed them what a good idea that was. Again Jon you need to get a glimpse through the reality glass. ASA has the AMLP act to protect their interests, SKYW guys do not. It very well could go the same way with nothing but a flip of the list with the SKYW stapled to the ASA list since there is no provision in the above act to prevent that. Bet you would love that, ASA guys moving to FAT city bumping you down the list back onto reserve. You say it won't happen? Show me the language that says it won't! ASA has the AMLP language in their T/A, soon to be their contract, wadda you have? Capt.B(deal me an ace, you won't regret it)H's word he will "look after" you? I can hardly wait, thats right don't vote just leave the phone on the hook(so they can call and JR man you). Pretty big stakes to betting hope on. Take responsibility for your career, and let St. George take responsibility for the airline, they have proven they don't do that well when they have to do both, but if you like PBS , there is more of that coming your way.

Skywest can decide to merge the two operations right now. If this happens, the ASA contract says that the since Skywest pilots are not represented by ALPA that section 3 and 13 of the Allegheny-Mohawk LPPs shall apply. That means that ASA pilots represented by ALPA would negotiate directly with Skywest management (since Skywest pilots are not represented by ALPA). Section 3 of the LPP only says that the outcome has to be "fair and equitable" to the ASA pilots. Of course both parties would negotiate in their best interests and ASA pilots would interpret "fair and equitable" in their interest. Really the only interest Skywest management has in this negotiation with ASA pilots is to keep costs as low as possible (think training, moving costs, etc). ASA pilots will have QOL, pay, etc as their interests. If Skywest management and ASA pilots cannot come to an agreement they would go to mediation and then arbitration (section 13 of the LPP). Of course Skywest management would represent Skywest pilots in mediation and arbitration.

Now, if Skywest pilots were represented by ALPA, they (Skywest pilots) would represent themselves with their own interests in mind directly with ASA pilots. Management would have no say in the seniority integration whatsoever. The pilot groups with their own negotiators, attorneys, etc would negotiate with themselves (ALPA Merger Policy). And if they cannot come to an agreement, mediation and arbitration is also part of the AMP. The difference is that both pilot groups are represented by and for themselves with their own respective interests in mind, NOT management's interests!

You are right no one wants the merger to happen, ASA or SKYW, but if you think that you will see the ASA guys get DOH of Sept 5, you are not only misinformed but possibly totally clueless. I am sure BH will start with staple, Just deal him an ace, you won't regret it. BOHICA, and you are too dense to realize its coming at you at .85M. The fact that your upgrade will go from 18mos to 3-4 years won't bother me in the least, the last thing SKYW Inc needs is someone as foolish and ignorant as you acting as PIC. Hopefully you will go somewhere else for that street capt job and leave SKYW intact.

Are you a management troll? SKYW pilots do not have a seat at that table. You will live with whatever BH and the ASA pilot MEC decide. Yeah the single carrier petition is never granted, your legal expertise is what will save you from the extended upgrade time.
