Rumor control is that two Skyway pilots were at the hotel bar a bit on the late side in CLE. Might have skated had a person at the bar not been a pax the next morning on their flight. Expressed concern after boarding and recognizing the crew, got off and alterted someone at the gate.

Folks depalaned, pilots quizzed, etc...

What's the scoop? Intel has it the pilots terminated. Capt. VERY senior.

Someone on the inside care to clarify.

thanks

Hor$e$hit!
I would side with the pilots first.
Now as far as posting this thread. I would advise against using the company name. Just my thought.

IF this "rumor" is true and IF the pilots were terminated, I would hope the matter is NOT discussed on a public forum such as flightinfo.com. Whether or not the incident occurred, it's a issue that should be handled/discussed internally here at Skyway. Additionally, IF terminations occurred, it would and should be considered a confidential Human Resources issue.

Would you want the matter publicly discussed here if you were one of the pilots involved in this unsubstantiated situation and rumored to be terminated?

So did they fire you or not?
Ah yes, to be presumptious. Given the fact I haven't done a CLE overnight in quite some time would make it very difficult to be involved.

The point of my post was this particular situation has NOT be verified by management or HR as being true. Rumors involving alcohol-related incidents shouldn't be discussed on a public forum. Confidentially-related issues shouldn't be discussed anywhere other than in private between individuals involved. Additionally, pilots are not the only individuals who browse posts here. The media comes here too.

Just be very careful what you or anyone else posts here.

Part of being a crew is the ability to excercise good judgement at all times. When on an overnight, exercising good judgement is just as important. When crewmembers choose to expose themselves to these situations all bets are off...
I for one, try to learn from others mistakes. Too bad they didn't.

It's like survival of the fittest. The weak and stupid eventually get weeded out. You hate to see anyone lose their job but can we really feel sorry for the dumba$$ pilots who drink past curfew. I feel bad for their families but the pilots get what they deserve whey they can't control their drinking behavior on layovers.

Why this lesson has to keep getting re-learned is beyond me. Once again; all together now, DON'T DRINK IN THE HOTEL BAR!

So what exactly does that mean??? MGT and HR can't verify what they have done and they actions they have taken?

It either happened or it didn't.

I'll just ask my friend at the Plain Dealer to make a few calls. Maybe it was in the paper and I missed it.

Drinking or eating?????

I did not see anything that said they were "actually" drinking alcohol...alot of Bars also serve food....thought I agree its not good business to been seen by your passengers..the perceptiion is always a negative one...

Of course, if they were have a few < 8 hours before flying....well I need say no more....

Why is it so important that you know more about this "rumor"?

As freakin bad as this industry is, I am surprised that more people aren't busted for drinking!!!!! When I get home from a trip I can't wait to hit the bottle!(Better then taking a bat to my head) It's the only way to get over all the dumb Fuc$'s you have to deal with on a daily basis!!!! Grab the bottle of Jim Beam and grab the wife's head for a nice blow!!!!! Then I finally feel like life is normal again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
