Why is it so important that you know more about this "rumor"?

Because I have family that commutes between CLE and MKE for business....

that's why.

Are you in a postion to add any constructive information? If not, I will investigate it further myself, to include a call to the company.

thanks.

Last time I checked SYX is not the only airline that has flights between CLE and MKE. Try flying XJET if you are that concerned. Or you can put them on many other airlines. Delta through ATL or American through DFW.

Props

So, let's say for arguments sake that this crew did drink the night before a flight.
Would tell your family not to fly on this airline because of the actions of ONE crew? Are you saying that the actions of these two people mean the entire airline is suspect?

I wonder if you really are a pilot and not just a reporter fishing around here for dirt.

Hey folks, I am fielding questions from family over there. I'm just trying to get the facts straight. The folks I'm getting questions from would be uncomfortable if this is true.

I've told them I'd look into it. Yes, they could easily get on a different RJ. They like the Do-Jets.

If there is nothing to this rumor, and it's completely false, I'll tell them that. Period.

But, since no one is coming forward with anything constructive, and no one 'in the know' has flatly denied that this has happened, I'll take the cautious approach and advise accordingly.

thanks for your insight.

No offense but at every airline this happens if you are so worried about your family send them by car, but oh wait thats more dangerous than flying.

Dont make rash judgements about a RUMOR you read on a public forum, it could have been a 15 year old with a creative imagination.

I will fly America West, and Northwest even though they have had "incidents",are you saying you wont.

RS6:

Maybe you're thinking of the American Connection incident in MKE last month?

Anyway, if you're going to come on here and ask this question about SkyWay, the responsible thing to do is provide some source for the rumor. You owe that much to the pilot group at SkyWay, the company, the industry, the members here, and--quite frankly--your "concerned family members."

To aid in your pursuit of the truth, here's a link to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. If there was even a modicum of truth to this, they would run with it.

After checking with my sources...This rumor is false. The sources are fellow airline flight crew. Granted, I know the majority of the board is going to slam me, but being a Captain for this airline, I can only say, our flight crews are well trained and perform beyond the standards that are required. I can't think of a person in our system ( Pilot or Flight Attendant ) that would, at anytime, put themselves, you or your family in harms way.

I hope this helps to put your feelings at rest..

The bar in the hotel is the only place to get food as well. I've been at the bar within 10 hours of flying just eating a quick dinner and a soda before hitting the sack. As Holly said, just a rumor. Not a shred of fact to it.

The company would not answer your questions if you called. Funny thing about HR, they tend to keep confidential any personnel-related issues. But go ahead and call them if you are that concerned - more power to you.

I'll second what Holly said about Skyway crew professionalism. I have yet to be part of a crew that acted in a manner that would be considered questionable during off-duty hours while on the road. And, I'll second IliniPilot - I have frequently flown on NWA and just because ONE 727 crew decided to fly intoxicated doesn't mean ALL their pilots are unprofessional.

I was trying to advise you to BE DISCREET when discussing issues of this nature. Next time, post a message to any Skyway pilot asking for assistance and to have them contact you via PM.
