Shuttle America has pilots in the next upgrade class with a 6/22/2004 DOH. Seems kinda quick compared to XJT 3+ years, or AE 7+ years, but hey...I guess we only make a few dollars more than your 50 seat rates, so I guess it all evens out.

All you CFI 1200hr wonders all want the fast track to the left seat, just remember the pilots at ACA and Air Wisconsin got bent over by ua, so you can "upgrade"

Injoy it while it lasts because in 5 years ua will be coming back to you to cut costs again.

Yeah good luck with that! Five hundred hours of Turbine PIC will put you right on the top of Fedex and Southwest's 20,000+ applications. Gonna be hard for the majors to hire when many narrowbodies are heading to the desert and being replaced by lucky you in the 170. Oh well at least you are a JET CAPTAIN! That will get you laid!

Oh I'm in--as soon as I get the 1000 Turbine PIC

Yeah, cause FED EX just announced they are getting rid of their fleet to replace it with an all express 170 feeder, but hey, your 3500 hours of right seat jet time should put you right up there.

When you know someone to walk your resume in, it helps if you meet the time requirements, and one of those major time requirements is Turbine PIC. Like I said, a quick upgrade will get you to those requirements a lot faster, never did I say that that would get you to the top of the pile.

But you do have to meet the minimums to be put in the pile in the first place, so it helps.

Good for them....

Give these guys a break - I am sure you would be happy too if you were in their position... They've been flying the SLAAB 340 for awhile and deserve a good break - and that E170 is an awesome airplane.

It's astounding that the kids jump at this stuff as if they're the first ones that thought of it.

They either forget or were never taught that ten years ago there were a group of kids who did exactly the same thing.

Shortly after 09/11 those 7000+ were furloughed.

What makes these kids think that they're going to be any more succesful than those who preceeded them?

Timing!!!!

Here, Here. I can't wait to upgrade and start putting out apps to FedEx and UPS. Forget SWA, i'm not about to pay for a type with my hard earned money. It is all about timing and the timing for us junior types is looking pretty good now with FedEx and UPS hiring in droves.

Wait! I should be ashamed to upgrade! Triple my salary and improve my resume? I don't get it why people are such sore losers.

Get in line behind every other regional captain, furloughed mainline guy, and military pilot that has 1000 turbine PIC

I can say with absolute certainty that this is not true.

I can tell you initials. If you have the list, you can ask him yourself. And you do understand that I mean upgrade, not bridge class right?

Hahahaha...this is amusing. So what if you get that quick upgrade. Do you really think its that easy to move on? Do you know how many senior Captains I fly with every pairing that are trying every way possible to get hired to fly for SWA, FedEx, and UPS and have not so much as been invited to an interview? I don't know what pipe dream some of you are living in, but I think you will soon be welcomed to the real world.

Well hey, If I don't move on as quickly as I would like, all of the guys on the other side of the list that I have met, say that the 170 makes a great waiting room.

Yeah, I'll take my 145 waiting room with the bigger paycheck.

Then that means that you are already a captain, congrats. 26 and a captain at an airline that flies E-145s for more money per hour than the E170 rates @ RAH...

Where would that be again?

Never said I was a Captain. And 2005-1981 would make me 24. Sure hope that 170 doesn't require much math skills to fly. XJT 50 seat pay is higher for Captains years 1-3 than CHQ/Republic/SA on the 170.

Did I mention my line this month has 17 days off? And I'm not very senior either. Life here is good...you can keep your 70 seat crap.

Wow, you guys make a whopping $3/hr more than your 145 rate, to fly an aircraft with 20 more seats? I'm very sorry to say this, as I know several CHQ pilots who are great guys, but you are a total f@cking toolbox to go around touting crap pay like that. Northwest flys an aircraft the same size as yours, for twice as much. Go to bed f@ckstick.

I'll buy you dinner at the rainbow room the next time an XJT pilot upgrades in year one. Infact, I will buy dinner for everyone reading this thread the next time an XJT pilot upgrades in year one. Print it out, and PM me with a copy of the award the next time it happens.

BTW you got me on the age thing...
