Republic Benefits??

Does anyone know if Republic has disability insurance and loss of license insurance? If so does everyone qualify from first day of class, or can they turn you down and who pays?

Zero. Announced today both are closing.

If I counted right, thats 16 crew bases that have closed in the last 7 years. RAH management - "Cheapest at all cost, invest in nothing". Seriously people, go work somewhere else if you're looking to get into the airline biz.

For someone considering interviewing at Republic please consider the following:

1. no cancellation pay - if they cancel you, you will be at work and not get paid
2. no trip and duty rig - 4 day trips worth 14 hours of credit
3. furloughs every fall - they have done this twice now for the winter months
4. Miserable pilot group - better off working at a funeral home if you want fun
5. No contract - company is willing to drag out the contract for years to come
6. Number 3000 out of 3000 talking 10-15 year upgrade
7. lots of 50 seat RJ's that will be leaving soon along with your 'temp' job
8. Company opens and closes bases where and whenever they choose. If you ever want to sign a year lease or even buy a home, do not work here.
9. No company bonus or profit sharing
10. 6 day reserve stretch with the ability to give you 1 day off at certain times of the month.
11. no rights for reserve, company owns you from 3am first day to 12 last day.
12. By-pass your seniority whenever it suits the company, they have done it twice and will continue to do it if its saves them a penny.
13. 1.5 hour callout, in most of our bases you can live 10 miles from the airport and not make a 1.5 hour callout
14. high washout rate on 145.
15. punitive sick call policy.

I could easily give 20 more but you get the picture, please do not even show up for the interview, go to SKYWEST.

Accurate and incomplete.

RAH just held a strike vote. From a practical standpoint that means nothing until they are released to strike by the NMB. However, of the 2000+/- pilots at RAH, greater than 98% voted in favor of a strike with greater than 98% voter turnout.

That is a very unhappy group. Don't say you weren't warned.
