The Republic Pilots Council (RPC) is an umbrella joint Council that would be certified by the NMB as the designated bargaining representative for all Republic Airways Holdings pilots under the Single Transportation System if it prevails in the coming election. The RPC members will initially consist of
equal representation from the current FAPA and Local 357 leadership.

Why would any Republic pilot agree to give Frontier pilots equal representation (50%) when Frontier pilots only represent 718 of the total 3077 pilots on the master seniority list? With 23% of the pilots they want 50% of the vote?

I don't work at either airline, but it seems like long term the pilot group will have much more power as one group instead of divided. Pilot groups in this industry need more power against management, not less power.

The Frontier pilots are the same ones who allowed Lynx while their pilots got furloughed and now they want to keep Republic separate because they are unhappy about the master seniority list. You Frontier pilots are absolutely crazy.

You didn't read the entire document.

Frontier pilots would represent Frontier Pilots.

Republic Pilots would represent Republic Pilots.

Long term, RAH will never have "one group". Frontier is going to be sold or liquidated. Period, End of Story.

The Frontier Pilots did not "allow" Lynx. Frontier Airlines developed Frontier Airline Holdings by a majority vote of F9 shareholders. Frontier Airlines then developed Lynx as a stand alone carrier, and lost a huge amount of money doing so.

The RPC doesn't keep anyone "Seperate". The IMSL will be implemented, but the CBA's will remain in effect. THis will benefit everyone on the list.

This will definitely benefit everyone on the IMSL if Frontier goes out of business.

A LOT has been made of what some group MAY do, all we know for sure is that IBT has DONE something, changed its Cand B's to PREVENT F9 PARTICIPATION! Power grab, dues grab, reach around, call it what you want but lets see what has been "talked about" and actions IBT has tried to take my seat, then tunnel under the fence, prevented F9ers from even RUNNING for any office ALL APPROVED BY RAH PILOTS. Actions vs. whispers. Only the IBT 357 can make a hack like BB and his "vision" better for me than being a Teamsta. Who'd a thought? Actions vs. what FAPA MAY be trying, hmnnnnn....The FAR's and no JA? 6 years of Ropa-a-Dope in Section 6??? Mesa gets paid more and has a better contract? 100 equals 99? That is a lie. I read the contract that Frontier pilots signed in 2007 that allowed for the creaction of Lynx.

Frontier Airlines pilots have voted in favor of a new four-year contract that boosts retirement benefits and helps protect jobs.

The carrier said today that 289 pilots voted for the new contract, while 140 cast bids against it.

The contract will take effect March 1.

"We're pleased that the members have ratified this," said Jeff Thomas, president of the Frontier Airline Pilots Association.

The agreement calls for cost-of-living wage increases, although it also includes future decreases in the pay scale.

For Frontier, the new deal helps boost productivity and lower certain operating costs. The carrier also can use nonunion pilots for its turboprop service, scheduled to start this summer.

The two sides had been negotiating on a new contract for more than a year.

How does it benefit the Republic pilots to give the Frontier pilots (a significant minority) equal power in the union that represents both pilot groups.

Please explain how it will benefit everyone on the IMSL if Frontier goes out of business to have a union with 50% control shared by the Frontier pilots while the significant majority of pilots that still holding jobs only retain 50% power.

Part 2

Frontier pilots are not free to simply decide to walk off the job in support of other pilots operating under a different CBA. The Joint Council structure allows the Republic Pilots the right to pursue their legal rights without the Frontier Pilots being forced to engage in what could be construed as illegal work activities.

I found this language in the Republic contract and can't find anything similar in the Frontier contract: "The Company will not transfer any Company aircraft or schedule any pilots to fly any trips for airlines that are on strike unless mutually agreed by the Company and the Union."

Did Frontier pilots approve a contract where they can be forced to fly for an airline on strike? Seriously?

If Frontier pilots went on strike, the Republic pilots would be allowed to refuse to fly any aircraft branded as Frontier. Shouldn't every pilot group have that in their contract?

It's disingenuous at best to expect ANY mainline pilot to group to go on strike along with a bunch of rj pilots. Especially considering the fact that most mainline pilots view rj pilots as S***S anyways. Would you go and support someone that you feel stole your job?

Regional pilots only fly airplanes that mainline pilots voted to give away. Some pilots didn't want their squadron buddies to start at the airline in a Saab and they wanted their friends to be able to jump right into the middle of an airline career instead of starting at the bottom.

It got out of control when airline management learned that mainline pilots would keep giving their jobs away in return for extra money, pensions, job security, or other carrots. The only victims were the people trying to enter a career as a pilot and the junior pilots who will never see the growth of major airlines that should have occured.
