yeah same for me, i still into it and probably will be for life, at least listen to the musci maybe not involved in the so called scene, i saw AGNOSTIC FRONT and drank several beers with Vinnie Stigma, their guitar player, cool to see theres some people who like palnes and punk as well, its not easy to see that...and i like Homegrown, pretty melodic stuff, one good thing about the state of punk today is all the cute girls that attracted to it, it used to be just guys and weird looking girls at shows, but not anymore, now theyre all hot in their little spiked belts and tight tshirts...yummy yummy punk rock girls, like The Queers said

sbav8r, i love ALL. Their song "shes my ex" has to be one of the best ever! "miranda" "breaking up" "million bucks" man, besides they kinda invented pop punk!!! And Descendents "silly girl" man its such a classic

By the way, in Spain in the 80s there was this band called LOS NIKIS.They werent punk rock, they were more melodic pop, with funny lyrics, kinda like Dead Milkmen or somehting, but with a nice melodic power pop sound, their vocalist became a pilot an is now an Airbus captain with IBERIA Airlines, http://www.losnikis.com/nikis-fotos.html
there you can se epics of them playing, an one of the guy in the Airbus cockpit at Amsterdam.....theres also one of the same guy haning out with Joey Ramone!

Wow, glad I stumbled upon this thread! I was in a youthcrew hardcore band back in high school in Richmond, Va, and we got to play with bands like

Ah, Interpol, one of the new crop of bands from NY. I went to their show a few months ago here in FLL, really good live act. I don't know if they would be considered punk...well, maybe new wave punk? They sound a little like the Cure.

Foo Fighters 1st album

Today Foo Fighters are kind of cheesy and poppy but I just downloaded their (David Grohl's) album, and can't believe how good it sounds even 10 years after its release in 1995. The 1st album rocked, it sounds so raw....then it all turned to cheese after that.

I always thought NKOTB was one of the more hardcore bands from the 80s. "Hangin' Tough" rocked, man that was the penultimate punk anthem of that era. The pit could be a dangerous place to be when they took the stage

Love the old stuff.....but has anyone metioned Husker Du?? Great song called "New Day Rising"....that's the only lyric besides a lot of screaming! Also, a great local band I used to watch in Richmond, VA was Death Piggy. Ahhhh - the memories of being a senior in 1985-1986! F...I'm feeling old now, thanks!

BTW...had never heard of Primus before Rush's 'Roll the Bones' tour. They came out - started off with the intro to Zepplin's "Kashmir" - the crowd went nuts, and then they broke into "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver"........talk about freaking people out!

I saw Social D play, and Mike Ness was so drunk he was forgetting the lyrics to his songs. He completely gave up during "So far away". You know what? They still sounded great.

if you like Joy Division check out Interpol, a NY band that many hail as the "new Joy Division", really good stuff.

I never heard any Black Flag tunes but I really like Henry Rollins - i know he's annoying but he and the band really rock.
